Seriously...with the amount of good players that will be available, I say pick up all the good bigs and let's aim straight for Lebron's head and a championship this year.

Get all these players I mentioned, and no one will be able to intimidate us.

We'll have the best front court in the NBA and rack up rebounds and blocked shots like there's no tomorrow.

Deal Jeff Green and a draft pick for Asik
Crawford and Humphries for Larry Sanders
Trade exception and a 2nd round draft pick for Bynum.

I'd gladly trade Bass and Lee for him.  I wouldn't even cut Bynum... I'd hang onto him until Summer.

Worst case scenario:  He's a disaster... it's a salary dump.  We aren't stuck paying Bass and Lee.  Bynum can be traded in the offseason as an instant expiring contract... or we just take the cap savings ourselves.

Best case scenario:  He somehow manages to play without pain.  His numbers this year aren't nearly as bad as people are pretending.  15 points, 9 boards 2 blocks per 36 minutes.  I'd take that kind of production if he could stay on the court.

Funny... just over a year ago some people here were passionately arguing that Bynum was the best big in the league.  Several of the folks here said he was superior to Dwight HOward.  He's only 26 years old. He's played roughly the same amount of games as Rondo since 2011.  Bynum is healthier and younger than Rondo... and fully healthy he's a force you could build a team around.

It would be classic buy low Ainge.

Sanders is a beast. He is a better rim protector than Asik, is younger and has a better offensive game. I'm really curious as to how much the Bucks would ask for him in order to nab him. Not sure they want to give up their young talent, no matter how many off-the-court issues he has had.

this team might set a record for offensive ineptitude from the center position.  :D

asik and sanders cant create their own shot and rely upon lobs and put backs for almost all their scoring. both are very limited offensive players.

bynum can used to be able to score, but with those knees i doubt he can play many minutes.

seems like over kill to me to get all three, but an interesting thought. i would be satisfied if any one of them came to the celtics for a bargain basement price. none of them would put the celtics substantially closer to a championship, but they would help provide a stronger supporting cast for the eventual stars on the team.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

You're going in 3 different directions with those trades.

I would trade for Asik giving up Bass and Lee, than trade Green and filler for Bynum for the salary dump. IMO this makes us a worse team right now with better chance to be good next year.

If the Celtics can dump Lee or Wallace in a Bynum deal I'm all for it.

I with Tommy H on this one, he said on the telecast yesterday that he doesn't think he wants to play basketball anymore.  Also, I think you will see an uptick in W's for the Cavs, they will go from completely sucking to just sucking...

I wouldn't say Bynum is healthier than Rondo.  Bynum has chronic issues and Rondo had one injury that he is taking his time coming back from.  Bynum is always going to be halfway injured at best.

As for the original post, it would never work with 3 centers who need court time.  It didn't work for Asik in Houston with only two.  And it didn't work in Cleveland with two.  Not to mention that's too much payroll to one position.

if sanders is available we have to get him.
if asik is available for the right price we have to get him.
if bynum is comin in cheap we should take a flyer at him.
