Cav's have been on the market for a small forward. Let's give them a pretty good one in exchange for salary dumping Lee. We then waive Bynum.

What do you guys think?

I'm pretty lukewarm on Green, but he is too valuable/talented to be used as a salary dump.

That is a horrible trade for us. Courtney Lee doesn't need to be dumped - he is still a productive player on a reasonable contract. He just might be a better fit somewhere else. Why would we give up our third best player just to dump salary - especially if that salary isn't Gerald Wallace?

I was not even on board with trading Green for Asik, this isn't even close.

The idea of getting a lot worse this season and having even more money this offseason overshadows what we'd be giving up with Green.

Plus, I think Green belongs in a more laid back place like Cleveland and would flourish next to Irving. Also, Lee's deal is grotesque.

Are we at least getting back Waiters or even Bennett? I don't doubt that they need a sf, but we are giving up way too much just to dump salary. It seems another team could offer a significantly better package for Green and Lee...if we really were looking to move them.

Now if we are talking about acquiring Bynum to be the center here in Boston (obviously a humongous 'if' with his health), then I think we give up Hump and filler and give him a try-out this season.

What we are able to do with the new flexibility of adding $13 million of cap space this offseason should be considered as part of the trade.

So if this offseason we absorb Carlos Boozer from Chicago for two future 1st rounders, then I think of that as part of this deal.

Offer a 2nd round pick in 2016 for Bynum.

Bring him in and evaluate both his physical and mental state.  There are a lot of questions regarding his desire to play the game...hopefully, sitting down with a new coach, a player like Rondo, the supporting cast that is currently getting better each game...maybe, just maybe, he'll come around.

If not, it'll be his decision.

I would love to do this, but only to keep Bynum on our team to help us contend because we need a center.

I wouldn't acquire him only to then simply say "how ya doin'.....see ya!"

I think attempting to move Wallace, Lee, or even Bass for Bynum, even at the expense of a heavily protected future 1st round pick would be a move worth considering. Especially if it involves Wallace and Lee.

(Wallace+Lee for Bynum+Henry Sims works BTW)

But I think Jeff Green holds more value to us than just a salary dump at this point. Not a lot of viable starting 3's in the league, and Green has shown the ability to at the least be that.

I don't want Bynum within a country mile of this team. If Boston wants to trade for him just to dump him and save money, alright, but nothing more. His attitude stinks, it always has, and now his level of play has dropped dramatically. This guy could've been the best center in the league and now he's averaging a mere 8 points and 5 rebounds for a crappy team.

Right.

Wallace, Lee or Bass? Sure.

Green? Absolutely not.

Cleveland signed their way into this mess and they have zero leverage. They deserve nothing of ongoing value to unload Bynum.

Problem being, I'm willing to bet it's going to cost significantly more than a heavily protected first to move Wallace/Lee/Bass. That's $21mill in salary and none of it is expiring this summer.
