Trade:

CJ McCollum, Earl Watson, Will Barton (and a Pick) for Courtney Lee

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=q9lgsgw

Celtics:
- getting 2 expirings in Watson and Barton (Bartons 2nd year is unguaranteed)
- getting further under the luxury tax this season (~1.2 mil.)
- getting a project in McCollum on a rookie contract
- maybe getting a protected pick out of it

Blazers:
- strengthen their bench for the playoff run with Lee's
shooting and perimeter defense

thoughts?

I can't see getting both a 2013 1st rounder (McCollum) and another pick for Lee.

Portland would be overpaying. Mccullum has talent, they won't send him out so quickly, and give us a pick on top of it, for Lee.

If you take out the pick, not the craziest thing I've ever seen. It speaks more to how bad Portland's bench is maybe, but not the craziest thing I've ever seen.

I think Portland is giving up waaay too much.

McCollum hasnt played yet, but a lot of people from the last year's draft are high on him.

Lee would definitely bolster their bench, but Im not sure Blazers would be willing to give up CJ McCollum, who can be at worst, a backup ball handler or could be ala Jarret Jack from Golden State.

Maybe if we give up a pick they would, but I would want Meyers Leonard over Watson instead.

Agreed, I don't think Courtney Lee is worth all of that.

Still partial to Bass for Myers Leonard and a pick. That trade seems like a win win if I've ever seen one. Portland has Joel Freeland as its backup center but could use a reliable backup for Aldridge.

Bonus we get to send Bass to a pseudo counter with a great fan base, only problem I can see is that Portland basically goes all in and will eventually have to find another home for poor poor Thomas Robinson.

Portland is winning why rock the boat?

Portland is winning why rock the boat?

Because they are winning without those three names putting up any sort of productivity.

Adding Courtney Lee should not break their chemistry,  in fact will fit their shooting the three style of play. He will also bolster the bench at the same time on defense.

A lineup of Mo Williams, Courtney Lee, Dorell Wright, Thomas Robinson and Joel Freeland/Meyers Leonard. That's a ridiculous bench. And getting Lee for pieces that is not even involved in their great run shouldn't affect their winning ways.

The real question here is are they willing to give up on CJ McCollum?

I'd much rather trade Bass for Robinson and extras, however unlikely.

I doubt they have interest in Courtney Lee, but they'd absolutely want (and need) Brandon Bass.

I don't think Portland will sacrifice much for bench depth, not when their expectations for this season weren't to contend.

You never know. Expectations change. Theirs have. I'm not saying this trade would happen but they could use a player like Lee
