I'm having a hard time forgiving Danny for not taking Giannis Antetokounmpo

I'm having a hard time forgiving Danny for not taking The Greek kid Gianni's in the past draft. I mean he moved up to grab Kelly Olynyk, who I'm sorry is not the next Dirk... But even if he didn't grab Gianni's he could have at least grabbed someone with more potential than Olynyk, like Schroder.  Danny said at the introductory press conference that KO was a "really good complimentary player".

I'm not exactly putting down KO . He'll be a starter at best. I think Danny usually drafts well, but this past draft I really think he made a not so good choice considering the other players on the board. Does anyone else feel this way?

I would've actually liked Giannis. But... you can't shoot down KO until his 1-2 years...

He seems like a very great player, and in the future will be a great stretch PF/C.

The thing about KO that you can't underestimate is... the intelligence.

You realize Sullinger, Pressey, and KO all share something in common? Being taught and growing up with fathers who have been coaches or premiere athletes.

The plethora of knowledge that they'll be growing or have grown from shared information will prove valuable.

I have no doubt Pressey will be an excellent back up PG, and Sullinger/KO will be great players in the future. KO just needs to get more muscle, and be more confident. KO has also great passing instincts, so we'll see..

Wouldn't even call Anthony Bennet an bust until you give them a full year or two.

Giannis was a fave on a number of people around here and he is proving to be a very good choice; however, we wouldn't have gotten him with our original pick anyway. I know we moved up to grab Olynyk and very well could have taken Giannis instead, but that apparently was never in the plans and we really didn't give up anything to move up for Kelly. After summer league last year, Danny was being called a genius for moving up - let's not sell Olynyk short quite yet.

Kelly has the skills to be good in the NBA, it just may take a little time. My biggest worry is his confidence. He needs to be shooting the wide open jumpers. I don't personally care if he goes 1-10 because his stroke is so smooth that he will eventually start making them with consistency. Let's give him a little time, but Kelly if you're listening "shoot the [dang] ball!"

Olynyk's stock in rookie ratings has been dropping fast as of late and right now his positioning amongst an awful draft class is somewhere just below where he was chosen. Given the quality of the draft class, that is not good.

I could care less about how high a pro basketball players BBIQ is if he doesn't have the talent, skill and physical attributes to be a professional basketball player. I really believe that will be the case for Olynyk and Pressey. Next year should be the last in the NBA for both of them, they are that bad.

But I am not sure anyone needs to be mad at Danny Ainge for selecting Olynyk. This year was a crap shoot of a draft straight from pick #1. It was the worst draft class in a decade or more. Think about all the what ifs people in Cleveland are having right now!!!!

If there were 4 or 5 guys playing like stars right now, I'd be a lot more upset.

As Nick said, this draft was historically bad. Giannis is averaging 9 points and 4 rebounds. Not exactly lighting the world on fire.

The future ROY of this class might win the award while shooting less than 40% from the field. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the draft class as a whole.

I respect your opinion, but I think KO has intelligence and skill. He just needs to be able to put it all together while bulking up, but cutting out any unneeded fat. Technically if you think about it... Sullinger has intelligence, skill, and physical talents, but is heavily undersized.

I think these two will be a great two man combo. I would love Greg Monroe, Sanders, Marc Gasol or even Asik here though. We need either a great passing big men, or a great defensive anchor to help Jared/KO.

I promise I won't be. 

And I do too think he won't be here next year unfortunately. I feel he may be traded to a team that believes may help them, even thinking the Jazz might want him as a back up stretch 4.

I think they cannot protect the rim.   Even if you add a rim protector neither Sully or Oly can protect the rim nor play SF on defense.   

It is obvious to me that Sully is your starting PF.   Oly is a backup big.  A potential rotation guy is all I see as, not a starter.   He could cause match up problems with his passing and he needs to vastly improve his shooting and his strength.

Giannis has the highest ceiling in this class but I still have hope that Kelly will end up as a top 5 player in the class.

I agree, I'm not a huge KO fan at all. He's got Troy Murphy written all over him. Giannis looks like he could be a BEAST in a few years.
