So I am watching the Clippers GSW game last night and it was pointed out over and over again that the Clippers were not rebounding. I must have looked like a genius when I told them that Doc teams do not rebound because he does not believe you need to rebound.

I also correctly called the Chris Paul ISO at the end of the game. Problem is Chris has not perfected the ISO like PP yet.

The Clippers will find out soon enough what they have in Doc Rivers.

It's pretty amazing how much better of a rebounding team this is, and with out Rondo,PP and KG. It's probably one of the reasons they can hang around in most games with a lack of a star player.

I will agree that you were right on countless points. I will not agree that you said Doc wanted out. I'm pretty sure his reasoning took on more than just a few weeks of short notice. Doc definitely thought it about throughout the span of a few months, and his reason to leave was probably eclipsed by months and months of heavily thinking about it.

Now I don't care or mind if he or has left us. Like Allen I hold them two dearly in my heart, but it was time to move on, and we needed a fresh coach who really was willing to be there for the franchise. Not someone who was seriously considering the possibility of having to leave us.

I'm actually enamored by Coach Brad Stevens. I feel his calm, and polite demeanor is what this locker room needs. There was plenty of tension around Doc, and his comments about us not being able to win anything would've been poison for the rest of the roster had he come back.

In the long run, I'm glad we got a draft pick, and we shaved off a couple million. This was a great move by Danny Ainge, and I hope to see more and more success from CBS.

It's pretty amazing how much better of a rebounding team this is, and with out Rondo,PP and KG. It's probably one of the reasons they can hang around in most games with a lack of a star player.

Agree. It is sad to see PP/KG gone. I do miss their dominant effect over the younger players, and hope they do come back next year.

It looks to me like our younger players are doing better than they ever did with PP and KG around. Their effect on the young guys is overstated.

You're telling me Perkins, Rondo, and Jared Sullinger would've been as great as they were or now are without the knowledge and support of KG/Pierce giving them advice/screaming in their ear?

Jared gives mainly a lot of his success to KG.

Tony Allen
Leon Powe
Glen Davis
Rajon Rondo

Young guys developed here even with the Celtics picking at the bottom of the draft every year for seven years.

Couple of points. #1 We're obviously on the outside looking in for all of the NBA (And anything we watch on TV really). Not just coaches. Everyone jocked on Scal, but he was in the NBA a solid 10+ years, there is something we didn't see. No one knows if Doc knew KG and Paul were going to be traded, so he doesn't want to rebuild. Plus Doc kinda struck me as a guy who had a great relationship with Paul, KG and Rondo (and ray) and not really the celtics as a whole.

#2. I'm kinda of the opinion that, these guys played this their whole life and are literally the best in the world. While a good coach does help, I can't believe they're the difference maker.

#3! Is anyone as good at iso as Paul Pierce?!  :P
Every year there are 6-7 teams with a lower winning percentage than our current record. I think we've gotten so used to ignoring the bottom feeders since 2008 that we've forgotten how bad some teams are.

True, but far from one of the best in the league as he's been hyped to be.

This is just pure hate right here.  Far from one of the best in the league?  Wow.  I'm not even a Doc's fan anymore but I can still acknowledge his prowess as a coach.  Stop hating, man, it's not cute

I don't think the comment necessarily is coming from a place of hatred. Doc coaches his system, and a lot of Boston fans have some doubts about it.

I think Doc coaches great help defense and draws up great plays out of timeouts. However, I don't think his system is some otherworldly scheme that separates him from other coaches.

Popovich--obviously, Thibodeau, Vogel, Brooks, and Stotts all strike me as guys I would immediately rank equal or higher to Doc in the coaching department. And I guess when you aren't top 5 it's tough to call you one of the best in the league.

Poor Hollins, Brad wouldn't treat you like that.
I'd be surprised if Brad gets off the bench on that one.
