I would do this every day of the week and twice on Sundays. I'm a huge Larry Sanders fan. The biggest thing this team needs is a shot blocking center and you really cant do much better than Sanders in that department. His contract is very reasonable and hes fairly room with plenty of potential to grow. His raw athleticism would pair well with the skillful Olynyk or Sullinger.

"The one I've spent the most time with, that I just thoroughly enjoy, is Tommy Heinsohn... He's a former player, former coach, a deep-thinking guy." - Brad Stevens

Tommy Heinsohn has forgotten more about basketball than most of us will ever know.

Gregg Popovich was 7 when Tommy Heinsohn was drafted.

No. There is no evidence Larry Sanders has championship hunger. The only year great year he had was a contract year in a crappy system.

If he comes back healthy and shows he has it in him then the Bucks wouldn't want to trade him. They must know something we don't. Why else would they trade him? His off-the-court issues alone shouldn't be enough to warrant a trade for what he showed last year.

It's not even about losing the pick; it's about tying up so much of our salary cap into an unproven player for the long-term.

Depends on what we're doing this year. If Danny decides to nose dive then no. If we make the playoff push once Rondo gets back then yeah. I think Sanders is worth a pick in the late teens. Sanders reminds me a lot of Deandre Jordan and I'd probably move a mid-to-late 1st rounder for DJ. They are even the same age.

One thing I will say is that I don't like Sanders attitude. From what I've seen he lacks drive and commitment to team ball. A lot of mental mistakes coupled with the recent character questions make him a wildcard for me.

Give me John Henson though, whew!

As some have already stated, it depends upon the protection on the first rounder.

Rumor has it:

I'd be so happy if we got him.

A 2014 top 5 protected pick plus AB?

Whoa, what happened there? Throwing in AB at the end of your post kind of surprised me. I don't know if we would need to tbh.

This team needs a big trade, or some real luck in the lottery. Our most valuable asset not named Rondo are all these picks, I don't think we can afford to be giving them away so freely.

This team doesn't need a big trade right now we already did that in trading PP and KG.  What we need is to accumulate assets and see where we are when Rondo is back.  We will see where things stand then. I do believe we will make a trade or 2 at the deadline...

It would entirely depend on whether he could play Center. He's a great piece for the future but only if he can play with Sullinger.

Depends what you think of the East. This would determine how high a pick we have.

A THIRD of the season has passed by and the Nets don't look any better. Tyson Chandler's return could propel the Knicks.

So, the Bulls, Cavs, Raptors, Bobcats, Wizards and Pistons? The Hawks being the best of the bunch and possibly a resurgence by the Knicks?

Adding Sanders to our team would only make the pick worse.

Perhaps the inclusion of AB means we could protect the pick even more...say top 10 protect it just in case.

Am I overrating Larry Sanders? A mid-late/late lottery first and expiring AB (he's looking for a big contract) seems fair to me. Or am I underrating the draft?

I'd give up a top 7 protected first for Sanders. Aside from this draft being roughly 7 deep Sanders is young enough that he'd still be my 8th favorite prospect if he were coming out this year.

To those saying he's not a winner don't forget he called out Ellis and Jennings in last year's playoffs for not playing hard enough. I think a one way ticket out of Milwaukee could be just what the doctor ordered for an attitude issue.

Last year he offered elite rim protection which we lack, an edge and chippiness that we lack and low usage but relatively efficient offense from the Center position which would be ideal in this system.
