As a celtics fan, would you consider trading Olynyk, something to make salaries work, and one of the Nets picks back to them for Lopez?

sell Lopez at the deadline? he has no value to anyone at the deadline to begin with, considering his injury. in the bigger picture, he's the last guy they'll deal if they can help it -- he's their best player by far, and they'd rather 'sell' their old guys. good luck with that by the way, Mr. King.

is anyone buying on Williams? doubtful (coach killer, overpaid, can't shoot, falling off a cliff from where he was 2 seasons ago, ugh).

is anyone buying on Joe Johnson? hahahahhahhaha...

is anyone buying on Jet? no.

is anyone buying on PP? i suppose for something small, but he's the least of their problems financially, and they will not get a 1st for him.

is anyone buying on AK-47? see above re: PP -- same deal.

the only guy who might bring an asset is KG, and they'd be lucky to get a 1st for him considering his age and potential retirement.

the Nets -- for lack of a better term -- are toast. and to the Celtics benefit, since they'll be lucky to dig out of the hole before 2016. that pick could be the 1st in the draft.

for Pierce and Garnett's sake, i do hope they get dealt.

Sellers of what, barely half their arena soon?

I guess it depends on what assets they could get, but they obviously aren't going to help themselves by finishing with a bad record - in terms of the draft.

the only thing that sucks in this scenario is Atl ends up with a lotto pick :(

Yup. I think that was really deceitful. We were led to believe we have the Nets pick in '14, 16 and 18 and then we find out, "nope, Atlanta has got the '14 pick."

I'd do Rondo for Deron.

Deceitful on whose part?

DWill could net them Charlottes 3 picks this year.

Dwill for Gordon and the three picks or some variation thereof.

Not to derail the thread, but Kemba Walker's been playing really well lately. Also, there's a decent chance their pick is going to the Bulls (protected 1-10).

I used the wrong word.

What I should've said is misleading.

I didn't realize when we made the deal with Brooklyn that the pick could conditionally be sent to Atlanta.

Good point about their own pick! TP.

So maybe the other two picks that they are owed and Gordon and a youngun' like Biyombo forDWIL.

Kemba would be a great backup to DWill

It was the centerpiece of the Joe Johnson trade. Unfortunate for us now, but on the brigtht side, any of us and the NBA community in general had at best the pick in the early 20s with Atlanta bein the worse. Now it's almost certainly in the teens.

Lots of teams would trade for Williams. He still has a lot of value. And where did you get can't shoot? Are you thinking of another Williams?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I'd probably take a flier on Lopez. Give them the Clippers first rounder+Humphries+Lee or something.
Get Lopez back and hope he can not break his foot next season.
He's under contract for 2 more seasons after this year.
We could then get KG and Pierce back next season to come off the bench too.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

If the Nets continue to fall, I could see KG ask for a trade to a contender
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin
