I love Pierce as a player.  He's one of the all time Celtics.  But if you watched that line drive jumper he was shooting last year, that to me was an indication that his legs are gone. Happens with even the greats. The legs aren't the same and the consistency diminishes.

He can still be Paul Pierce on some nights, but we'll see fewer and fewer of those and more frequent bad performances as we move along.

Right now I think he can be a solid 20 minute a game guy off the bench as long as he's good with it.  But Danny made the right call.

He would still be our best player easily,  after Rondo of course

I am soooooooooooo close to cutting him from my fantasy team...I only have so much sentimentality in me.

I cut bait with Pierce and KG long ago (for Sullinger and Thomas). I have since picked up Pierce again, but this performance leaves me wondering if I need to go for it again...yikes, cutting Pierce twice in a season - that's just not right.

I dumped him once and picked him back again too!

KG is even a bigger stat waste this season though
Yup

If he only played 15min than I don't get the story at all.
The actual story is that he got booted from the game for clotheslining George Hill.

Our team maybe low on elite talent.......but at least they are fun to watch most nights as they run and play their hearts out.

I m now finally glade Pierce an KG are gone .......our record would be no better , maybe worse and huge letdown every night watching them plod  up and down the court ,  while thinking we still have all stars and  holding out hope for nothing......as they are only shells of  their former selfs.   A loss with the kids is easier for me to take .

It's hard to watch them play so bad , even on another team....

Just brutal

At his age it's probably just a natural regression,

It's also comfort level, I'm sure.  He's gone from a team where basically the whole offense was built around him and KG being options 1 and 2 offensively and Rondo getting him the ball to a Nets team where he should really be option 4 at best with a shoot-first PG like DWill.  Pierce and KG would have fallen off if they'd stayed in Boston, but I'd bet money they'd be putting up better numbers than they are in Brooklyn.

Um. Deron Williams is not a shoot-first PG.

Deron Williams not a shoot first point guard? That would be news to me.
