After the Indiana Pacers finished manhandling the Boston Celtics 106-79, Hibbert told CSNNE that Sullinger could become a carbon copy of the Minnesota Timberwolves superstar.

Quote
"He's just gotta keep working," Hibbert said. "He could be like the Kevin Love of the East. It's his second year. He got a back problem last year so it's gonna be a long process, but he could be a pretty good player in this league."

Even Kevin Love seemed to agreed when asked.

Quote
"He can shoot the ball, he has a soft touch, he’s capable, as far as rebounding the basketball goes. He’s very young, so he has a lot of chances to improve. My advice to him would be, don’t wait until the summer. Start improving now, because you always have every day to improve and he seems to be getting better and better."

---

If there is anyone who reminds me of Kevin Love it is Sullinger. I don't think he'll ever eclipse over 12 RPG any season in his career, but he'll be at least somewhat 14-21 PPG and average at least 9 RPG in his prime.

I would say Sully is a mix of Love and Randolph. I don't see David West in him at all, cause West is extremely physical, and is a beast at 6'9. He just bullies most Centers and PFs out of his way.

He can be good.  I doubt he can be THAT good, but he can be good.  He's still only 21.  He could be an 18 and 8 guy soon.

Rebounding rate rarely increases with time.  Sully averages about 9-10 rebounds per 36 minutes... solid but it's not the 13-15 territory Kevin Love is in (and has been in since he was a rookie).   Love is knocked for his defense, though... maybe Sully can be a better defender.

Agree rebounding will never ever be higher, but... Sully can shoot the 3 and hopefully will be better, and he already in my opinion is a better defender and has plenty of year to grow and develop.

I hate to say it. But I would not trade Sully at all lest a major back injury, which I pray or hope never happens.

Sully may be our franchise or corner stone player to come, and honestly its hard to believe how much of an impact KG has been on him.

Pfft. I saw this yesterday and I thought to myself, Sully could be better b/c Sully could also become an excellent defender. Sully could be getting 12rbs now (I don't know for sure but isn't he avg 10 per 36 now?), if CBS didn't tell our bigs to worry about boxing out and let the guards get the ball. I don't see the big leap from 10-12rbs when Sully hasn't even trained with the big dawgs in the off season yet.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Much respect for Roy Hibbert.

Pumps Sully up this week and Jeff Green last week. classy.

Don't like West though. Can't help think what could've been if he had chosen us over the Pacers that shortened season and thereafter.Good for him I guess, bad for us.

Sometimes I'm surprised Sully's only 21. He has a lot of time to improve.

Don't hate on west for not coming to boston. He made a great choice obviously. I was a little bummed but he fits into the pacers lineup incredibly well. Love west ! He doesn't back down from anyone. Hibbert is the man too. He's one of those players
Who can change games/ have a huge impact without the stats.

just another reason why I hoped Danny would get hibbert in the draft by hook or by crook.  classy guy to complement an opposing player AFTER they play

You're right. I too don't really dislike West, just the decision  he made, because he really could have helped us.  Jealousy, I guess.

TP to you.

Well then merry Xmas to you ;) .

Another TP. And I do agree West has stated couple of times that he didn't like Boston, but what he stated was evidently true. We weren't going to do much. We desperately needed a Center. Garnett was able to hold down the PF. West would've definitely helped, but at what cost in terms of our cap space, and why? We needed an actual honest to god bruiser on the glass, and someone who could've been able to rebound, defend, and block. Ala Perkins.

Soon Ray Allen criticized his decision. One offseason later, the same person who criticized David West took his talents to South Beach.

I agree with the defense... Kevin Love-esque but also a good defender is a very capable player.  Love's lack of defense is my issue with him.  I've wanted him to the Celtics via trade but seeing Sully develop while giving defensive effort that Love has never shown... it's making me forget that.

He's still very young and already putting up great games against good competition.  I don't see a reason to doubt him continuing to develop.
