The proposed wheel draft was the brainchild of Boston assistant GM Mike Zarren.

What I take from this article is 1) Ainge is still hoping for lottery luck this summer and 2) Boston continues to have smart guys in their front office that think outside the box. Daryl Morey used to work for Boston and Phoenix's GM Sean McDonough (Will's son) was a scout and assistant GM under Ainge.

As front offices become smarter and more competent there's going to be less and less undisciplined teams with bad owners out there to take advantage of. The Knicks and Nets cupboards are already almost bare after the Hawks, Celtics, Blazers, and Raptors/Nuggets got the better of them.

So basically Zach Lowe (like the guy) stole Mike Zarren's idea and wrote a column?
Where did you get that from reading Zach Lowe's article. The article states it was a proposal that had been proposed to the league that was gaining some traction in certain circles. Lowe reported on the Circle idea. He never said it was his idea.

My bad then. I plan to read Lowe's column today.

I was referring to the new Boston Herald article (linked at the top of the post) that is about Ainge's reaction to the proposal and general thoughts on the draft system.

I know what you were talking about. I was talking about Global Celtic's assertion that Zach Lowe stole the idea when all he was doing was reporting on it.
