We already have a talented but inconsistent SF on our team, Hill is a major downgrade over Rondo and the Pacers don't have attractive draft position over the next few years, even if they had picks to trade. Pretty uneven deal, even for a made up rumor.

Meh...

I would rather acquire a legit big like Asik first, then wait for Rondo to come back and see if we can make a legit run at the playoffs.

This wouldn't really be a bad move for the Celts if Granger could actually stay healthy.

Plus, I don't like the idea of Ainge being a seller instead of a buyer.

This.

Oh well... weak indeed.

The sad part about this is that last night, watching Granger, he reminded me of Michael Finley in his Celtic days. Old.

No Rondo, no picks for Granger. Not worth it.

I'm all for tanking and open to trading RR for a nice package of picks and a young player. With that said, this is a completely one sided deal that makes 0 sense. I'd trade Rondo for a lottery pick and young talent, not the 29th pick.

The deal makes no sense for Boston because Hill has 3 more years on his deal after this one.   Some three team deal that sent out Rondo and Green and brought back Granger, CJ Watson and a late teens 2014 pick from someone besides Indy would at least make sense from a tanking perspective.

Rumor is bogus... but Rondo + Wallace + Lee for Granger's expiring, George Hill, Lance Stephensen and a couple late 1sts is a deal you'd have to take.  Indiana wouldn't do that at this point, though.  It seemed more reasonable when I suggested it in the summer.

Yeah, the more I think about it, this really would be an AWFUL, AWFUL deal for the Celtics.

Guarantee you Granger fakes an injury upon a deal cause he wouldn't want to play for a non-contender, Hill is a decent but a role player and the 2014 pick would probably be in the late 20s.

If the Pacers want to deal us Paul George or Roy Hibbert, great.

Til then, there's nothing to discuss.

Even that I wouldn't do. At the end of the day, that doesn't benefit the Celts at all.

I would do something like Rondo, Green and Bass for Paul George, David West and Lance Stephenson.

Until then, sayonara.

I don't want us to improve another team and makes ours significantly worse.

It's fairly unlikely that Danny's going to give up his best player unless he gets a top player in return.

There's more than one reason I don't do this deal. Actually there is about 100 reasons not to.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.
