  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Anyone else think he looked like he was favoring the other leg significantly running down the floor?
Looks stiff and and still hasn't got the strength in that leg- doesn't look close to me.
If he does play in January it will be 10-15 mins a game on that brutal road trip at most won't it?
They should sit him for the whole road trip and let him scrimmage for a month. Just doesn't look ready to me.
Stroke looks good though.

Anyone see his new 'Anta' Rondo shoes?

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

JuJuan 2.0 I mean KO living up to be a complete stiff catch the freaking ball

Let me see you go from college, to catching passes from Craw, AB, and Pressey then get a fast one from RAJON FREAKIN RONDO and let's see how well you do! He has never been passed to by better! He will be ready once he learns that RR will pass them hot out of NOWHERE! He's still a kid! Give him time to learn.

You know, reading your post it occurs to me that part of what makes a great pass a great pass is how easy it is for the intended target to catch it.

But I don't think that's what happened here--KO flubbed both of those. Just like every other big learning to play with Rondo.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Yeah, exactly.

Look, there are valid criticisms to make of KO.  But saying he lacks coordination / good hands isn't one of them.

Assuming he doesn't re-injure it, it will take 6-8 months for him to get all his strength back.  Some of it is mental too, the favoring one side and fear of re-injury.

This was after practice and it didn't look to competitive to me.  A lot of the guys looked gassed.

Both the receiver and the passer play a part in any pass.   A guy who can't catch will kill you just as much as a bad passer.

He's wearing a brace too, that should hinder movement some.

It's not that Rondo's passes are hard to catch, it's that he makes passes that nobody else does and people who haven't played with him much aren't ready for the pass. When the Celts had Bird you'd always hear about new players taking a few of his passes off the side of their heads until they got used to looking for his passes. The same happens with Rondo. He's been doing drills with the team but KO's been out with an injury for much of it.

Wallace made a similar comment about how he has to get use to passes from Rondo cuz he's going to pass it if he thinks you're open. He also said that Rondo's timing is off after being gone so long...of course this comment is coming from our TO machine..lol, but I think once Rondo is able to get more practices with them they'll connect. I expect them to miss some of these Rondo bullet passes..lol

not sure if this clip has been seen yet (longer video of schrimmage)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyOwU8K8F9Q

Rondo and KO tandem looks excellent out there.  Rondo ultra quickly can identify KO on the court unlike Jcraw who ponders a second or two , too long

I want to see Rondo out with KO, Sullinger especially and see what happens out there

yeah. He aint no Melo who gets hit with the ball instead of catching it.

Olynyk will be in a dream world when he plays with Rondo.  Better than it was when he played with Stockon in Gonzaga which is better than now when he plays out there with Jcraw or Pressey

Great to see him in practice. I'm sure he can go full speed but no need to rush it now if he's still a month out. Can't wait (for that 3rd seed)
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

If don't expect a pass, you are going to try to do something else useful, like crashing the boards or getting ready to defend the break. A big part of handling passes is realizing a pass might come.

Walter needs to look for his shot.  He's only a couple of years older than KG, and he can barely run up the floor once.

We don't see Rondo in a game for at least three weeks.

Don't mind him.  There's always at least ONE know-it-all critic just waiting to jump on our guys if they don't turn out looking like superstars from Day 1.  Not to mention it's just a scrimmage with Rondo on his first day back.  I didn't see a lot of full speed plays from anybody.
