Yeah, I didn't get the lackadaisical passing thing either. When it comes to true turnovers Crawford has never been bad with the ball. Actually given his usage rate he takes care of the ball extremely well. I just assumed the OP meant the less than intelligent decisions Crawford makes regarding when to shoot versus when to pass that when he misses feels like its a turnover.
I actually think I once read that Doc Rivers had an assistant coach keep stats on mental errors that don't make the stat sheet(as well as a bunch of other stats that don't make the stat sheet) and posted them on his board for the players to see so they would be aware of the mental errors they make and needed to fix in order to get or keep their playing time.
'graph one--yeah, you're probably right.
'graph two--that's really smart. I hadn't heard that one before.
Yeah if I remember right other stats he collected were deflected passes(not steals), altered shots(not blocks), out of bounds hustle plays that preserved a possession, 50/50 hustle plays, and cross court passes(part of the mental errors).
I'm sure every coach has their own non-stat stats they collect to make their points to their players.
