I'm going to buy my son a Celtics jersey for Christmas.  He's ten and love the Celtics.  Rondo is obviously a current player (for now) but Bird is a legend.  I would love to buy him a Russell jersey but those are rare for kids and also very costly.

Bird.

His career is over so your opinion of him shouldn't really change much.

Not saying that Rondo will necessarily burn bridges or anything but always the possibility he gets traded in the near future and could change your opinion or your son's opinion about him.

Bird and Russell are timeless. If your son doesn't know their history, it's a good teaching opportunity.

If he understands the history but just likes Rondo, go with RR.

If you are local and plan on taking him to games, your best bet is probably Sullinger.  My guess is that he's the least likely to be traded anytime soon.

Lots of people argue that Rondo will not be traded, but there's still a chance that in 2 months he'll be playing for Sacramento or something.

Well, I had to act quick because I was ordering online.  Ended getting him neither Rondo or Bird (see below).  I think I did fine.

There's a chance anyone on the team will be somewhere else in 2 months.

Get the Bird jersey. If your son doesn't know much about him you can spend a good half a day on youtube watching his highlights. Time well spent.

I wear my Paul Pierce Celtics jersey around Los Angeles and I get the dirty looks lolol.

Just don't get him a No. 6 Heat jersey or those disgusting yellow/purple No. 24 jerseys lol.

I love Larry, but the #6 jersey will always be the coolest in Celtics history.

Not gonna lie, this makes me wish I had kids.  Having said that just ask him who his favorite player is, that way it won't matter if that player gets traded..
