Boston, Charlotte, and Houston idea. Realistic.

Charlotte is in win now mode with news of MKG being on the block.
Houston wants value for Asik.
Boston wants to look toward the future.

Charlotte gets Asik (perfect with al), Gerald wallace(best years as a cat), Jeremy Lin (can sell linsanity)
Houston gets Jeff green, Ramon sessions, and biyombo
Boston gets mkg, and ben Gordon

Now I can see Houston and Boston loving the deal. Charlotte would really have to like asik. Might need a pick sent to them or sub another deal in for Wallace like bass etc.

Regardless I think these teams could work something out.

 Nicely thought of trade. I'm not sure I give up Green for that. Charlotte won't take Wallace back these trade are so [dang] tough to pull off. Nice idea though.

I know Charlotte is Charlotte, but I doubt even they would be stupid enough to take on Wallace when they're also going to take on an $8M backup PG. At best, they'll take either one or the other. That's the only issue I have with this trade; everything else is well thought out.

Yeah, does this work without Lin and Sessions in the deal? If so, it seems to make sense...although Houston really kind of hits a grand slam on this one. Asik for Green AND Biyombo? Seems they would have to be the ones adding a pick (which is VERY unlikely).

I like the spirit here... but hard to imagine any team taking Green and Wallace in the same deal. They play the same position, and make the same money for the same number of years.

We're likely stuck with Wallace, unless we A) trade him with Rondo, or B) trade him for equally stinky garbage (read: STAT).

EDIT: sorry misread this. Still don't see it as realistic. Why would Houston trade Lin? And the Cats can't afford to pay Asik, Lin and Wallace a combined $40mil (whoa!) next season... no one goes to their games.

Pretty reasonable trade offer.  The only team I see possibly saying no is Charlotte.  That Wallace contract really hampers their ability to build around what would be a relatively talentless core of players.

The Rockets still have no backup C, and I don't see Byiombo and Howard being a good pairing at all.

I can't see Charlotte taking on Asik's poison pill AND Gerald Wallace's albatross contract.  That's where you lost me.

This would be a magical scenario for Boston.  Shed bad salary and land a 20 year old with potential.  It's a pipe dream trade.

I can sorta see a hypothetical trade where...

Charlotte gets:

Asik - 8 mil 2 years
Lin - 8 mil 2 years

(Helps them become competitive.  Both poison pill contracts... which is a negative)


Boston gets:

Ben Gordon - 13 mil expiring
MKG - 4.8 mil 3 years

(no brainer)

Rockets get:

Jeff Green - 8 mil 2 years
Bass - 6.5 mil 2 years

(They could use both)

But unfortunately, Boston would probably also have to send two 1st round picks to Houston... or one 1st round pick to Bobcats/Rockets each.   We aren't giving up enough.  Not enough talent return without Houston getting a couple 1st rounders.

True, but they've been managing without Asik as a backup C for the past however many days lately and in the playoffs Dwight will be playing 40 mpg so that backup C won't be so important.  If they are in dire need, they'll find someone available at the deadline.

i would not give up green in any trade.. we wont get equal value at that positiong in return.

i like the pelicans as a team to get asik since they want to move davis to the 4 and ryan anderson would be a good fit for the rockets

we could be a 3rd team and make a run at lin hes a nice combo guard very good shooter hopefully we could dump wallace and crawford/bradley plus the clips pick and send bass to new orleans

PELICANS GET: asik bass
CELTICS GET : lin and greg smith and stay under tax line

This trade works on trade machine. Not sure I would want to give up Green though, if only because MKG does not have any 3pt range. Though I like MKGs game, and I think in our system he would flourish. I also think that with more minutes and more shots per game his scoring would increase to offset what is missed by Green in this trade. Both are strong defensively.

Plus we end up with Asik. Not sure I like his game for us right now, but since I was working a three way trade with Houston in the mix I figured I would have him come to us

Only to the extent to which he has no PF skills He's 6'9, 230 lbs, and saw the bulk of his time last season playing next to either Josh McRoberts or BJ Mullens.
