From what I can gather, all of the Bobcats' phone calls are about making this team better now. I'm even hearing rumblings that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will be on the table when he returns from injury. ESPN.com

Wonder what some landing spots could be for MKG? Still only 20 years old averaging 9 points and 5 rebounds.

Still can't shoot to save his life.

Is he the next Andre Igoudala, or the next Trevor Ariza?

I really like MKG. It hasn't been the best start to his career, but he's still only 20 years old and I think he has the potential be a good role player.

If the Celtics were to trade for him, I'm not sure what they would want to give up. Draft picks? MKG's trade value I imagine is pretty low right now.

I think to get in the discussion for MKG, Green would be the guy to go.  And I would strongly consider it, but would need more than MKG in return.

I probably wouldn't, I'm not a big fan of MKG. He might still develop but so far he just seems stagnant low impact player for all his talent.

Green + ?

for

MKG + Biyombo

I'd be interested in figuring something out along those lines.  If the Bobcats are desperate enough . . . .

Important to remember, I think, that he's a 20 year old player in his second season, and he hasn't exactly been in an ideal developmental environment.

Trading Green for bad and worse? No. Never trade legitimate talent for wishing-on-a-star in order to dump a trivial amount of salary.

I can't see them giving him up for anything other than a legit star.  No way they do it for Green.  It would be great if they did though.   Green isn't getting any better.

I don't see it as a matter of dumping salary.

You're dumping a guy who's maxed out his talent and who is paid a premium for what he does for two young players who have some current value and are both young enough and physically gifted enough that either or both of them could end up being more valuable than the one guy you're trading away.

That would be a pretty good deal, in my eyes.

throw in a first round pick unprotected for 2014, and I'll do it, else, NO

if Bobcats miss playoffs again, I think their pick will be very very valuable

MKG's trade value is not high right now. No chance Ainge trades Green for him.

Again, all this smells like part of the Asik discussion to me. Asik to Boston with some real pieces from both HOU and CHA, Green to Charlotte, Bass and MKG to Houston.

It's sensible for all parties, and it's clear that Morey has been talking to both Ainge and Jordan.

They've already traded it away. The first available 1st is for 2016, and even then it still needs to occur 2 yrs after their 2014 pick gets paid, so if they meet protections this season and actually convey the pick next season, we won't get a pick until 2017.

The pick they sent to the Bulls has decreasing protection until it is unprotected in 2016, so I don't think they can trade a pick before 2018.

I have and will continue to maintain that adding Asik to this team makes little sense, unless perhaps there's some other kind of move coming to add a well-rounded high level talent to the mix.

Asik is a great defensive player who's a bit of a dead weight on offense.  It's a win-now move to acquire him.

MKG is a much better rebounder than Green has ever been.  He is a better passer.  He is also a more efficient shooter from the field and similar from the line.  This from a 2nd year player in a bad situation.

I'd trade Green for MKG straight up and wouldn't give it a second thought.  Of course that trade doesn't work financially.  Maybe something like Humphries and Green for MKG and Gordon.  Perhaps send Lee and also get Biyombo or send Bass and get Biyombo and Haywood.
