1. I love Rondo and want to see him retire a Celtic. I find him to be the best floor general and passing PG in the game.
2. That said, I don't think he will be worth a max contract. I am not a firm believer in building around PGs and as much as I love Rondo I feel allocating a full 10 year vet max deal to him is insane.
3. I don't think Rondo feels he needs a max deal. He loves Boston and wants to eventually coach and probably would love to tutor under Stevens here in Boston after his playing days. So I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a 4 year $64 million deal that might decrease as the contracts ages, like $17/$16.25/$15.75/$15 as a way of showing his loyalty to the team and understanding that they can't really afford to pay him a max and be financially competitive with him as a max player.
