Although the idea of Boston being a 3rd team in a Asik-to-Philly deal is plausible... that's not what the rumor is really suggesting.  Mark Stein just says that Boston is another possible destination for Asik... meaning that it's not a guarantee the Rockets will trade with Philly.

Philly's blog is then just trying to connect the dots and suggesting that the 3rd team rumored in their Asik-to-Philly deal might be Boston.

That said, why would Philly want Asik at all?  They are tanking.  Asik is a 5th wheel of a team already contending.

Wow, another terribly irresponsible piece of "journalism."

The "rumor" stems from Marc Stein hypothesizing that the Celtics could get involved in an Asik deal because they have Jeff Green or Brandon Bass plus 1st rounders.

That's it.

The hilarious thing is that the 76ers fans are drooling at getting a bunch of assets from the C's somehow while being involved in a three way trade. Really weird logic going into their thoughts on why they'd be getting any assets at all or even be involved.

Doesn't seem to have much information behind it but I could see a deal built around Young and a Cs pick going to Houston, Asik going to Boston and a phili getting a young guy (Smith, Motiejunas?) from Houston and expiring from Boston.

something like this

Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

As bad as that Crawford to the Heat rumor that didn't even claim that anyone involved with the Heat was the source of the rumor. Completely "some GMs think the Heat could use Crawford".

Yeah, I was reading down the comments section and some of their ideas are strange and awful.

I'm not sure why PHI would even have to be in an Asik to Boston deal.

I think Bass/Lee/LAC 2015 first is a strong offer. Most Houston fans I've chatted with seem contet with such a deal.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

They're under the impression that we'd really like Thad Young and/or Spencer Hawes potentially.

I guess it makes sense to have a three-way deal if they don't want Asik but have the players Houston wants and the C's want Asik.

We already have Thad Young, his name is Jeff Green. And he may arguably be the better player anyhow. Also, I am still not sure why the Rockets need Jeff Green when they have Chandler Parsons.

Hearing HOU really likes Jeff Green in an Asik trade, but unlikely. Asik could be moved by Thurs. Also Waiters to CHI or PHI? Lotta chatter.

Heh.  It's amusing seeing another fanbase do that on their forums.

according to a source from Mannix he said there's no truth to moving Jeff for Asik that the C's like Jeff

Yeah same here, I think we'll only move Jeff if we're getting a star player in return...

Not shocking, makes zero sense for both teams. Not a win-now move for us, not addressing a need for them.
