In Jeremy Lin and Omar Asik.

Out Crawford, Olynyk, Bradley, and Green. And the Clippers first rounder.

If you didn't already know Beverley actually plays more minutes per game than Lin 28.8 Mpg Beverley 32.3 mpg  for Lin. Lin is a nice player but Overrated and over payed.

This trade may make the Rockets the deepest team in the League. It all could work because of Howard's presence. They could play small ball with Parsons the stretch four with Green at the three, Harden and Crawford Add to that Terrance Jones, Beverley, Avery Bradley, Omar Caspri, Olynyk, and if they would rather have a more proven guy in Bass over Olynyk, the salaries would still work.

For Boston we take two steps back, But Secure our Center in a world where it's really hard to do so. He may not be the greatest but he's the best available right now. Are record would also take a big hit with this trade helping to possibly acquire a top ten pick.

Do you think Lin and Rondo could play well together? And if we were pretty bad after this trade and landed  the fifth pick in the lottery would you be OK with these results.

 Omar Asik
 Sullinger
James Young SF Kentucky Hawks Pick
Dante Exum,or Marcus Smart Celtics pick
 Rajon Rondo

If your now familiar with Exum or Young Young from what I've seen is a good catch and shoot player with limited penetration skills. Exum looks to be an outstanding lightning quick shooting guard prospect. And Smart is my favorite college player think smaller, stronger Dwayne Wade potential. Tough as nails, competitor. IMO he can definitively play two guard in the NBA although he's not the best shooter like Wade.

horrible trade.  we give up a top-defensive guard who's shot is really improving this year, a combo guard that's shown dramatic improvement this year, a solid PF rookie AND our starting SF for an overrated. overpaid PG that is falling behind in their depth charts and a mediocre center.

I don't get the fascination with obtaining a mediocre center that's doing to be vastly overpaid next year.  He's a fine defensive player but his offense is lacking.  He's not worth nearly as much as you propose.

Bass, Brooks and maybe the Clips pick next year.  I'm still not sold on the need to get this guy since he doesn't come close to putting us over the top to being a contender.

That's a pretty terrible trade for the Celtics.

Fair enough Bass and Crawford work in the trade machine straight up for Asik. It also makes them a plus six in games one. I happen to think they also want at least the Clippers pick, I'm sure they push for another one of our picks.

Would you trade Bass and Crawford plus the Clippers pick for their Average center.

So we trade 3 of our starters and a backup for 1 of theirs and a backup. And the starter we get back can't shoot or play D, and oh yeah he has to change positions. I think I will pass.

If anyone on the team gets traded for Asik it will be Bass, then Sully can move back to his natural PF position.

If Houston includes all their picks until 2048, unprotected... I'd think about that.

You want to pay 30M combined to Lin/Asik next year? Good luck trying to unload them next season as expirings.

And on top of that, you're giving the best player in the trade (Green), the second best player (Crawford) and probably the best/second best player in 3 years in Olynyk. And the Clippers pick, too.  :o

Sorry, but I don't get it, we won't be bad enough to outtank the Jazz, the Bucks, Magic, Sixers... you name it.

I just don't see the incentive for the Celtics to trade for Asik, let alone Lin.

Some may also see Bradley as the 1st or 2nd best player in the trade, as well. At first, I glanced right over his name, but then realized he was basically just filler. I really really really hope Asik gets traded to anybody other than the Cs in the next couple of days so we can put this all to rest.

I'm not a big fan of trades when we give up a pick and the rationale is that we will be able to tank

Woah man.  I want to give you the benefit of the doubt... Did you forget to dump Wallace or something?  That's a pretty rough trade idea.  But admittedly I think Lin and Asik are obscenely overrated.

I feel bad, man. You're getting killed, but I agree with others that this would not be a wise trade. I'd trade Bradley and Kelly in a package for Greg Monroe, but not Asik. Huge overpay in my opinion, especially with all the other assets included, and the salary the Cs have to take back. We need a center, and Asik would be great, but not at that price. I agree with the person who said Bass and Steeze for Asik.
