Only player I could find that plays at SF often was Frye and Tucker. Could we pawn Wallace off on them?

Wallace+Lee+cash

for

Okafor

PHX has Len and Plumlee at C, Emeka hasn't even played a game. Wallace/Lee are two healthy, defensive role player veterans and I don't think Wallace's 3rd year will be as big of a deal to PHX as it would be to other teams.

I think Okafor is out for the year, but if we could shed wallace's salary I'm in.

I kind of would envision us trading G-Wallace as an expiring when the time comes.

But this is waaaaayyyy better than trying to "get rid of" Crash with first round picks and/or even Rondo. Those are absurd (in my opinion).

Though, for this very reason, I'm not sure Phoenix does it. Wallace's contract is truly otherworldly. Maybe if Phoenix gets/ sees themselves getting the star they've expressed interest in (a non-SF star, of course).

Then again, Okafor's pretty nice. He's only 31.

I don't think it's going out on a limb to say that Jeff Green is probably not the kind of "big name" Phoenix has in mind.

i thought this was the thread about phoenix looking to make a trade, in which somebody suggested trading jeff green for their first.

instead, this thread is about trying to pawn off Gerald Wallace and his atrocious contract.

why in the world would phoenix do this trade?

This is exactly what I was about to say.. Truthfully getting tired of Jeff bashers.. In the biggest Jeff green supporter and this past Knicks game he seriously proved his worth. His defense on melo was near perfect, comes out says he played like poop lol, but two huge plays on both ends of the court to seal the victory and I honestly thought this game was gonna silence the critics at least a little but they are still in full force

The thread op states Phoenix has no legit sf and then posts Gerald Wallace n lee for okafor.. Jeff green got brought up after the fact, brought into it, the main topic does not state Phoenix needs a star small forward

I've seen many threads that have Melo ending up on the C's because hes "available" and C's need a star player. The sun's do too, and are better than we are currently, and willing to trade picks for star talent. Why wouldn't Phoenix cut us out and go straight to NY for Melo?
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

why in the world would phoenix do this trade?

Only possible scenario is if they get a big name in the first place, they'd put together a nice little playoff run with Wallace. Lee is a sweetener in that case.

Then possibly  :-X become an attractive location for free agents (which is a truth I despise and am in denial of, the fact that there are "FA "destinations"").

With their medical staff and young core, that's not too out of question.

I agree they probably won't do it. G-Wallace is a hell of a lot better than he was last year but his contract truly is a monstrosity.

Does melo have a no trade? Melo wouldn't stay with Phoenix either way in my opinion, so why would Phoenix unload everything for someone who's prob gonna be a rental. At least celtics have rondo to convince melo to be more than a rental. Melos stated he wants to play with rondo. But my posts about melo and boston is more I think he's coming next season after opting out via sign and trade. I wholeheartedly believe melo will be in green just my opinion though. And think that's the start to the new big 3.. Rondo melo and TBD.. I prefer green and a big center not needing to be a pure star.

PJ Tucker, Marcus Morris and Gerald Green are all better than Wallace.

I'm sure Melo wants to play with Rondo, but in NY. Once they get their coach fired and bring someone new in that is. I just don't see Melo wanting to come to Boston. I personally would love it, I love his game but I just don't think its realistic. Melo wants to win now, right now, not in three years. I just don't see us as as good fit.

Melo doesn't want to win now. He wants to get paid. That's why he went to NY in the first place.
