In Chris Webber's voice...RONDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

PS. I just realized he's got the coolest most unique name in the NBA.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would

What's so funny is that he's almost solely called by his last name

Why do I have a funny feeling that if Pierce and Garnett were here for one final go round toward a ring that Rondo would have been cleared over a month ago and been playing already.

These sly smiles and remarks that Rondo and Stevens and Ainge give when asked about how he has looked at practice make me think they know Rondo has been ready to go for a while but are just holding off in an effort to make sure the Celtics record isn't as good as it could be.

They did it in 2007 with Pierce. Wouldn't surprise me if we found out Rondo has been held back for reasons other than perfect health.

Ehh, we already know that b/c both RR and DA said he scaled back on working as hard to come back, they didn't want him going as hard as he was (could). Remember at first they were saying RR is working really hard to get back soon (things like that), then switched to saying he's going to take it easier and not rush.

I'm so happy I could kiss the sky! Him coming back by January leads me to believe they couldn't hold him out any longer. It also tells me that Danny didn't mean that he didn't want us to make the playoffs, he just doesn't want us to get in just b/c we weren't the suckiests of the sucky teams. Sure, people are gonna think it's to showcase him for a trade, I don't... we will see soon enough!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Would Dr. Andrews have to be in on it too for that sort of conspiracy theory to work?

I'm not sure about Stevens, but I think Rondo and Ainge enjoy messing with people when they speak to the media.

all it takes is for rondo to tell Andrews - "hey it's still a little sore"

Andrews could have cleared him for full contact months ago. Since by law Andrews can not discuss Rondo's medical condition without prior written consent from Rondo, the team could simply have been lying about when he was cleared. For all we know this last visit could have just been a follow up visit to check how the knee was holding up under the full contact practices that Rondo has already been going through.

Yeah, its far fetched but I wouldn't put it past this management team since they have done it in the past.

Or, the team could have simply just not specifically asked for Andrew's opinion on whether or not he could be medically cleared, in an official capacity.

Plenty of ways to skirt around the issue without actually asking the doctor to lie.

I'd guess Rondo will end up playing just over half the season.

No. It's not like he's seeing Rondo every day. If there was a conspiracy the Celts would just put off his checkup.

It's something Danny would do but I don't think there's any reason to think that here.  A 10-11 month recovery time for that surgery isn't beyond average and if Rondo's being kept in practice there's no reason to think the Celtics are "holding it off" rather than taking very common precautions.

Being cleared for "full contact" doesn't matter for returning to practice nearly as much as it does for returning for games.  Regardless of how close Rondo has been to a "full practice" in the eyes of Danny or BS, contact doesn't really start until he's in a game and fighting through picks/hitting the floor.

December was always considered an at-the-earliest return.  Saying he's been fine for months would probably be a less common recovery time for his injury.
