Should We Keep Humphries?

I know he makes a ton of money, but isn't his contract off the books after this season?  What are our changes of re-signing him to a reasonable deal?  Do you think Ainge wants him back?

I really like his game.  I like him as a veteran presence and it doesn't hurt that he's is a productive player when he gets minutes.

I'd like to keep him if we can get him on a reasonable deal.

While I think Humphries took a lot of undeserved flack before the season even started, the emergence of Sullinger has made him obsolete.

Between Sullinger, Bass, and Olynyk, there are no minutes to be had at PF next season. We'll be better served finding a real C, though Humphries isn't a horrible fallback option on a team-friendly one-year contract.

He's a natural PF and we already have 3 of those signed for beyond next year.

if he's not traded at the deadline for a young asset and a pick (or a young asset and smaller expiring deal), just let him expire and ease some pressure on the cap for next year to possibly resign AB and/or Crawford

How about for Scalabrine money? 

I agree with you, only way I would keep him is on the cheap and for short term. He is an excellent end of the bench bigman, but only if the money is right.

Then we would need to be a Bass or Wallace lighter.

  Most contenders would probably love to have him (we sure would have in pretty much any of the 08-12 seasons) but with his salary they'd have trouble coming up with an offer Danny would want.

Nope -- with the PFs already on the roster, only minimum contract guys should be considered for further depth at that position and Humphries will likely be looking at a contract somewhere in the neighbourhood of at least $4 million per annum.
