Being,I'm sure, very much in the minority, am leaning towards trading Rondo! If Detroit would pony up Drummond for him, he'd be gone tomorrow! We have a PG. We don't have a rim protecting C.
For years hasn't everyone talked about how if RR could only shoot(FG and FT's), to go with his playmaking he'd be the best, or at least top 2/3 in the league!
Well right now JCraw is giving us what we've wanted RR to do all these years! Can he keep it up? Yes, I believe he can. No he's not the assist machine RR has been, but let's see if RR is STILL that machine playing without KG and Co. knocking down shots! I believe he will still rack them up at a good rate, but maybe not 11/12 per game. Recently JC has been at about 7 per. Brad has gushed about his D! He's no great rebounder, but decent for a PG. RR rbs will probably go down this year too, as BS seems to be keeping his big rb'ers closer to the hoop--in theory leaving less boards for the guards.
And when the clock is running down and we need to get a good shot off, who would you rather be stuck with the ball,RR or JCraw---or at the foul line---or taking a three when everything else stalls?
It seems every year you see a couple of players in the league that just all of a sudden GET IT! The lightbulb goes off, and in amazement you say "when did HE get that good?". If this is, indeed, JCraw's moment, and we derail it, and crush his spirit sending him to the bench, or worse, trading him HIGH where he goes off with another team to be great--that would just really......!!
This team has been playing really well, but lacks a legit C and rim protector, and a dynamic franchise scorer/player. RR could get us that in Drummond, and the you just need Danny to score us that last piece!
With BS's coaching ability, I think we'd then be a title contender again---and with a pretty young team!!!
