Milwaukee is rumored to be interested in Asik. Ilyasova's a nice fit for the Rocket's needs. Acquiring Asik while keeping Sanders makes no real sense for the Bucks -- he's a better fit with Henson in their frontcourt. So:

BOS gets: Larry Sanders, Gary Neal
HOU gets: Ilyasova, Marshon Brooks (salary filler)
MIL gets: Asik, Jeff Green

Works on the trade machine (just barely due to Sanders' deal).

Sanders and Neal aren't worth giving up Green.

We'd lose a SF and would only have Wallace. Sanders isn't playing, which on a bad team that says something.

And we don't need an other undersized SG.

Sanders is injured.

It's a risky move for sure. I'm basically interested in the perception on this board of Sanders, because the deal certainly makes sense for the other two parties.

Probably the BEST trade idea of the year!!!  Green is replaceable!!!!

Ilyasova would be PERFECT for Houston.

Great job!!

There's also another way to do this deal, if MIL was eager enough to lose Sanders in lieu of Asik.

BOS gets: Sanders
HOU gets: Bradley (or possibly less -- Crawford or Favorani -- depending on some slightly tricky numbers here), Ilyasova
MIL gets: Asik, Bogans

This is the type of deal MIL really needs to do, if they can, IMO. I'd rather build with GA and Henson then tread water with Ilya and Sanders.

Milwaukee gets killed, Sanders + Ilyasova for Asik is terrible value.

I actually like the original idea, but with small modification because Houston needs backup C (Udoh). http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pqw5sxx

Boston IN: Sanders
Houston IN: Ilyasova, Udoh
Milwaukee IN: Asik, Green

Fantasy value? Agreed. However, a) the Bucks are terrible, and have a lopsided roster, with highly paid guys bottlenecking minutes from their top prospects; and b) Sanders hasn't exactly responded well to the signature of his deal. There are a lot of teams that would likely avoid him altogether right now, considering his contract extension. And you have to wonder whether the Bucks might be starting to think they wouldn't rather give some of that money they committed to Sanders to Henson instead.

So, they're not likely to be able to get a package as nice as Green and Asik for those guys. But where Sanders trade value stands right now is probably pretty unclear, thus my two suggestions. Obviously I'd rather keep Green.

As for Sanders, some guys just shouldn't play in a weak organization -- I think he's one of them.
