I've already described what a potential Melo-to-Boston trade might look like.   If Melo wants to play with Rondo so bad, he should demand a trade.  The Knicks are at a bigger risk of losing Melo than Boston is of losing Rondo.   Rondo has 2 years left on his deal... Melo can opt out this summer.

Jeff Green, Bass, Lee, Wallace, Humph and multiple 1st round picks for Melo and Amare's corpse.  Ask for SHumpert too, but settle for whatever junk min-level contracts they add as "filler".   Seems fair to me.

Fairness is beside the point (though I think it would be dim to give all that level of assets for a guy who is opting out this summer).

In what Bizarro World would James Dolan trade his prized possession?

In what Bizarro World would James Dolan trade his prized possession.. to the Celtics?

In a Bizarro World where the Knicks continue to sink in the standings (not happening) or Melo opts out in the Summer to flee to another team (very possible).

Yeah exactly. On the surface, trading for Melo doesn't seem so outlandish, but then the idea of New York dealing their star player to Boston seems remote at best.

If Melo played for another team like Minnesota or Memphis, maybe...But New York, don't see it happening.

If you really want to play with Rondo, just lower your bargain and come play in Boston, dude.  And I really agree with the poster who said Rondo-Melo would be a perfect match.  I would love to have him in Boston but I think it's a long shot

You're missing it, dude. James Dolan lives in denial. There's no way on God's green Earth he's trading Melo to the Cs or Nets or Heat, or even to the Sixers or Bulls.... if he ever trades the guy at all, which is a pretty remote possibility altogether.
