This is what Charles Barkley said last night at the Knicks/Nets game. He really thinks Boston won the trade and has a bright future

Charles Barkley also said:
- Brad Stevens for now is his #1 candidate for Coach of the Year
- He clearly mentioned Jabari Parker to be the #1 draftpick.

I agree on all 3 things so far :) I love Stevens and I'm feeling good about our future. I really hope we can become a contender within a couple of years and I somehow got the feeling Rajon Rondo is going to take his game to an even higher level after he returns.

The trade with the Nets was a heist, funny a lot of people on this blog thought they didn't get enough.  Just need to finish in the lottery and this team will be back atop of the EC in a few years...

I didn't like to deal at first and I'll admit it. I'll be the first person to happily eat crow.

Danny seems to have hit a grand slam this summer.

Funny tweet from Bill Simmons:

"Billy King should win Executive of the Year. He gave Portland ROY Damian Lillard and it looks as if he just saved the Celtics."

Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

I do, I don't think Barkley is that bad of an analyst

So Billy King is guilty of assisted suicide, then?

He followed that up and said because Boston is leading in the Atlantic Division - which is a bit of a sarcasm.

everything seems to fall into DA's lap
Nets sent Lillard for the Wallace trade
Then use Wallace and 1st round picks for the KG/PP trade
Amateurs worry about equipment, professionals worry about money, masters worry about light… I just take pictures…

True but he still said that he got the team going which is true. I think Stevens did a hell of a job so far! Ofcourse it's ridiculous that we are leading the Atlantic with an 8-12 record.

Oh yeah and I don't think Barkley is too bad of an analist either. Not the best but better than some others

Simmons also called for Brad Stevens as Coach of the Year if only because he made Jordan Crawford into a serviceable NBA player.  (again, sarcasm)

Do you take any of the play-by-play announcers seriously?

My problem with Barkley is that I see him as having the tendency to crawl down rabbit holes -- he'll make an initial point that may be decent, then feel obliged to follow up on it with a pile of stuff that's mostly hogwash.

I don't think he's bad per se, I just tend to take a lot of the stuff he says with a grain of salt.

Play-by-play? Yes, most of them. Perhaps you mean the color guys? :P

I don't think he got away with murder.  He got to first base on an error and stole second.  It is still a loooong way home.

I hated the trade.  Now I am getting used to it, but to have a "good" team is still a stretch.  (I do enjoy watching the young guys effort though.)

If we have to pick a baseball metaphor I think this fits pretty well:
