For Lebron, I would give up every available pick and any available player, provided that he would agree to extend his contract.

What if he would only come if he could wear #33?
Well Lebron wouldn't know who wore #33 anyways

this, LeBron is the best player in the world, you have to get this guy. Hate the guy, but I admit he is a freak of nature. Him and Rondo will be scary together.

Don't know how much longer Wade has with those knees, and Rondo > Chalmers.

I would not want LBJ in green either.   Great player but have we ever have had a guy that self centered?

i hate lebron's ego and his sense of self-entitlement...but if you can get a player like him, you trade pretty much everything possible. think of the KG trade, but more.

This is what I was thinking.  "I've decided no one should be able to wear #6 because Bill Russell and Dr J. were two of the best players of all time.  So I'm switching to #33."

I hate being reminded of what a big deal LeBron made of his number change to make all his fans in Cleveland re-buy his jersey, when all the while he had already decided he was leaving to play with Wade the next year and knew 23 was retired.  Oh, what a coincidence, LeBron must have only just found out MJ wore 23!
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

With our luck, if we traded for LBJ he would injure his knees... not worth it. He's a great basketball player, but he's an idiot, look at this:

I did like the idea of LeBron in Green when he was in Cleveland, he had the youth excuse for showboating and being an idiot, but come on, he's in his 11th year as a pro, that's unexcusable. I can't imagine something like that from a pro athlete.

LeBron's almost the past, we should focus on the future. In a couple seasons, the 2014 Draft kids will be the new flavor, and LBJ will be left out by both his body and the refs. In 2017 we'll probably be able to get him as a complementary piece for our young and upcoming team, in a 2008 Posey role.

I would trade EVERYTHING (and I mean EVERYTHING) as long as he opted into the last two years of contract.  Wouldn't even need an extension past that time.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I tend to agree although if you trade too much he'll leave before you get a chance to fill in the roster around him.

I don't really think you can say LeBron is almost the past. I get that a lot of people don't like him, but you can't just shrug it off and pretend that the guy doesn't exist or is going to disapear off the face of the planet.

Although I get what you're saying, his stats are still amazing, he isn't going anywhere for a while.

Everything the Celtics have as long as he re-signs with the understanding that he needs to talk to his "friends" to join him in Boston.

i have had this conversation with my friends.  They all said the same thing:  Just out of principle, Lebron can never put on a Celtics jersey.  No matter how good he is, he is Lebron James.  As an entity he is anti-Boston to the core.

I know you'd at least have to give up your soul to root for LeBron.

best post since I've been here.

Didn't 'bron dis Bill Russell? said something like "he chose #6 because it was the only number he could think of that a great player hasn't worn". I know I probably misquoted the tool but it was something to that effect.

anyway, if we want to get 'bron and win. I don't think we'd be able to afford 2 other all stars.

He would take everyone worthwhile plus most of our picks. Then we will become like the cavs of a few years back

So no thanks.

Great player but we wouldn't win, unless Wade came via FA.

Quote

"I just think what Michael Jordan has done for the game has to be recognized some way soon," James said. "There would be no LeBron James, no Kobe Bryant, no Dwyane Wade if there wasn't Michael Jordan first.

"He can't get the logo, and if he can't, something has to be done. I feel like no NBA player should wear 23. I'm starting a petition, and I've got to get everyone in the NBA to sign it. Now, if I'm not going to wear No. 23, then nobody else should be able to wear it."

Hefty praise - a league-wide retiring of the #23, a-la Jackie Robinson's #42 in Major League Baseball.

James went on to talk about why he decided on the #6, which also explains why he wore it in the Olympics and at various Cavaliers practices over the years -

"My second-favorite player was Julius Erving, and he wore No. 6," James said. "I wore 32 in high school because Dr. J wore it at first. My first child was born on Oct. 6, it's my Olympic number, my second child was born in June."
