2014 2nd round pick.
We are terrible, but so is the East. I'm not sure any of us predicted that the East would be this bad overall. It's mainly due to injuries, new lineups and new coaches, and it will probably improve. That doesn't mean we can't help our 2014 draft chances AND have our young develop more. Currently Sully is only getting 25 minutes a game. We need that up over 30 minutes a game. Bass has been great- but he's taking time away from our youngsters and he's helping us win a little too much. He also deserves to play for a real playoff team because he's a workhorse and perfect role player.
The Blazers are on a great run. Problem is they have one of the worst benches in the NBA. Coach doesn't trust them and they're basically using Mo Williams and Jay Freeland- even the rookie Meyers Leonard is barely seeing the court. (well he sucks for the most part).
They need help quickly, and they are probably the most perfect team for Bass- they are a jumpshooting team that drives and kicks out to shooters, and runs pick and pop situations as a large part of their offense.
Really I can't think of a more perfect team for good old Brandon Bizass.
They recently acquired Thomas Robinson from whoever had him last- the poor kid is getting tossed around the NBA like beachball at an All Star game. He can slot in as a full time back up power forward to Sully and Olynyk. He'd also stop Humphries from getting minutes if Bass is traded.
Victor Calver is a salary filler and obviously we want their 2nd round pick- which I think they'll give up for a guy like Bass.
If they insist we could give them Brooks as well so ensure they give us the 2nd round pick.
Thoughts? Does it do the job of getting us some young 'upside' whilst giving our current young guys more minutes, and moves Bass's contract and talent to a better situation?
