Who is our shooting guard and center of the future?

considering how messed up the Eastern conference is at the moment, I'd be happy with a couple of lottery picks (provided Atlanta misses the playoffs with the Nets) and would love a shot at Exum or Parker to go with Embiid.

I'm not sold on Green as being a 'star' player.   good complimentary player, sure.  star, no.  PP in his prime was a star.  Green is nowhere near as talented.

I am hoping that Kelly Olynyk can become our power forward of the future.  If he grows into the potential that I think he has, then maybe Sully helps fetch our starting center of the future. 

I think our two guard of the future might already be here in the form of Avery Bradley.  Or, maybe, he is someone we get through the draft.  Rasheed Sulaiman?  Gary Harris?  Wayne Selden?  James Young?  Markel Brown?

Maybe we'll have to wait until 2015.

I would want a Nene/Gortat/Chandler type center (realistically) next to Rondo.  The type of SG I would be looking for is Iguodala, Wesley Matthews, Kawhi Leonard, Afflalo, Jared Dudley.

Center? How about Sullinger  that's one we can have very cheap, that recently we're averaging 18/10 and who is a little above that per 36. And that guy didn't even play a full season yet.
But okay, I see some good centers and big man becoming available for an attainable cost.
A  "real deal" shooting guard is harder right now. And we wouldn't contend by having a just "somewhat-above-average" SG on a team with Rondo, Green, Sully and the one BIG.
No need to obsess on positions, go for the BPA's (not PG of course). And they will come

I wouldn't mind having one or both of them as well.

As for SG, Aron Afflalo would be very cool to have. I'd be so happy if we land him, would probably drool. I'm on board with Afflalo.

But Center of the future? I want Greg Monroe or Joel Embiid.

Some good ideas here. I'd like to have Gortat or someone like him—a good rebounder and shot blocker who's great at finishing around the rim. Someone suggested Monroe; I like that idea too.

If JCraw keeps developing like he has been, becoming an excellent, consistent shooter who can also pass pretty well, I can see a great three-guard rotation of him, Rondo, and AB, as Kozlodoev mentioned.

I also like the idea of a Sully/Olynyk/Player X/Fav big-man rotation (or maybe trade one of our current three or Bass to get that Player X). Have Green start at the 3, with Lee as the fourth guard/small-ball 3.

Of course, any of our draft picks could become the 2 or 5 of the future, or our backup 3. But I really like most of the guys we have now, and can see many of them becoming solid, if not great, players.

Harden and Rondo could share the ball handling, and Gasol is a good big defeder

Gasol is a perfect choice for the 5 and he might be available sooner than later.

But we have no chance at landing Harden.

I doubt Memphis lets Marc Gasol go anytime soon.

Marc is a UFA in the summer of 2015 (2 years).  The C' s could well be in position to lure him to Boston.

I'm hoping he resists the temptation to extend his contract, and actually hit the market.  I'm not sure Memphis is going in the right direction.  Thing is, he has ties to the area, as he went to High School there when Pau was with the team.

I could get behind a Green/Sanders/Sullinger frontcourt.

I think it's a downright horrid idea for a big guy with back issues to carry that much weight. I can't fathom why and how his father seemed to be ok with the concept.

I do not believe Green is the long term answer at SF.  Sully might be at PF, but way too early to tell.

But taking the premise as is, I'd go with Andrew Wiggins (moving Green to SG) and Jahill Okafor.
