Note enough value in return or Afflalo. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if Orlando and Boston discussed a Rondo-Afflalo swap.
Why would Boston have any interest in that? I sort of get it from the Orlando side if they want to slide Oladipo to the 2.

In theory, I like the idea because I think Orlando is definitely more likely to end up in the toilet than we are.

What I would do however is eliminate Houston from the conversation. I am not big on Asik and I've heard Houston wants two 1st rd picks for him. See ya.

I would just strictly deal with Orlando.

Maybe something like this (and not sure it works money-wise)

Celts get Afflalo, Glen Davis and Jason Maxielle.
Orlando gets Bradley, Crawford, Olynyk, the 2014 Brooklyn/Atlanta pick and Humphries.

For Orlando, we take another bad contract of their hands in Baby plus I like Maxielle. You could also play either one at center. They also get expiring contracts, another draft pick and basically get really bad

For Celts, we get a legit scorer, two more big guys who can help us make a playoff run. Besides, dealing that 2014 Brooklyn pick (to me) isn't a big loss because it looks like that pick is going to be Atlanta's and Atlanta isn't that bad of a team right now.

Because Afflalo is terrific, available, and Orlando has some very nice pieces to add. Example: Rondo, Wallace, Lee, Favorani for Afflalo, Vucavic, Turkaglu, Nelson make some sense for both teams, IMO, if you buy (as I do) that the Cs are more interested in trading Rondo than they say.

No deal with Houston, we don't want to pay that 15 mil for Asik and still give up a first.
If we could get Affalo without overpaying then good. Probably won't, since he is averaging 22.6
Them idiots in Orlando may want to tank the season, but they would ask more than one first and just some averages'. Probably would want something like a good player that's down for the season.
Goal for next season: Top 2 seed.
Say goodbye to: Turner, Zeller, Sully.

Askik is not that good, if he was he wouldn't have been a bench player for his career.  Can we move on from Asik please, we don't need another goofy white boy on this team, Olynyk is goofy enough.

Him being a bench player is tough to pin on him too much.  He has been a bench player because he has been playing behind two of the top 5 centers in the league his entire career.  Now, he is certainly not a star, but he is probably a top 10-15 center in the league.

The guy I think is a little overrated here is Afflalo.  I don't think he makes the team that much better.

I agree with Asik backing up Noah and Howard is nothing against him. His one year as a full time starter he averaged 11pt 10rb 1blk and is an elite level defender.

Who am I over valuing as a celtics fan?

It has been leaked to the media that Houston wants 2 1sts for Asik. Reprts are that teams asre scoffing at that because of Asik's contract structure. I dont find Bass, Vitor and a 1st a stretch at all for a trade.

The afflalo trade I conceded may be a little lite but it also depends on the path of the magic. If they are building young around Olidipo and Vucevic and not just gathering assets then they need bottom out this year. Afflalo may prevent this.

It's not a great trade just to get to the 3rd spot. Heck, if we win a couple more games we're there already. So it's not like its a big deal to be in the 3 spot this season.

Plus Fav by next season could be similar Asik. He's shown glimpses of being a good center, its just learning the NBA better and getting more respect from the refs. Plus he's going to cost us half of Asik will be getting.

Plus the two 1st rounders are more valuable for better trades or for moving up in this years draft. And I would like to know if Brook/Atl's pic will be in the lotto or not before moving it.

If a 28 year old sg who's been fairly average for his entire career can net a younger player who's a 4 time all-star then Orlando would have traded him by now.
