Rajon Rondo, rehabbing from ACL surgery, was on the floor wearing practice gear (including his brace) and engaging in light shooting drills as practice opened to reporters. Stevens stressed that there's been no advancements in his progress.
"Rajon is still out," said Stevens. "He did some practice today, but pretty normal for the last couple of weeks."
Rondo still hasn't gained clearance for full-contact activities, something that will likely require a visit to operating surgeon Dr. James Andrews.
"He’s doing a lot in practice but he hasn’t been cleared for anything above that," said Stevens.
I saw the RealGM report this morning and thought it was strange, because when you actually clicked on "Full story", it would take you to tweets from Gary Washburn that simply said:
"A league source says when Rajon Rondo returns to practice is his decision. sounds like he's been cleared #celtics"
I figured RealGM messed up... otherwise I would have created a thread about this hours ago.
Meanwhile, on my fantasy bball page, it says this about Rondo:
Rondo (knee) has improved hardly at all over the past two weeks according to coach Brad Stevens, the Boston Globe reports.
Spin: Rondo has been limited in practice the past two weeks and still remains without a timetable for his return. It appears it could still be a while before he is able to return to action.
Btw, I'm pretty sure I read that he has a meeting with his surgeon on Thursday. Maybe he gets cleared after that, but definitely not before.
