Would you do this??  The Bucks need big man that can score and Kelly can develop into such a player.  We are helping take a bad overpaid contract off their hands in Ilyasova.

This saves us 3.02 million this year, but will cost us 4.42 million more next year.

Would the Bucks consider this??  They are DOWN on Sanders right now due to his off court behavior and they really have a couple of potential clones in Henson and Udoh.

Thoughts??

Illy is certainly not a bad overpaid contract.

He is one of the best stretch-4's in the league and is somehow underrated. No chance MIL does this.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

You really believe that Ily is worth 7.9 million this year and the next two??  Oh NO!!!

I would throw in one or two future first rounders that are lottery protected to get this done.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Nah they don't want Olynyk. They have Henson.
Bass and Lee are just dead weight contracts they don't need too.

They wouldn't do this trade- Larry Sanders is worth way too much to them at this point.

The reason he's not playing is a bad thumb- not his behavioural issues. He's got a few behaviour issues but not enough for them to move him.

Only thing we've got that they might consider moving for Sanders would be Rondo, or Sully+Green.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

The Bucks say no.

Also, if you land Ilyasova, you then have 3 small forwards on the team.

I'll pass you are giving up on a big guy way to fast, and if you add a guy like Sanders on your team you need a big time scorer to over come his lack of offense, which we of course do not have.

This all stems from this idea you have to have a rim protecting big. Which I do not agree with. It would be nice to have a big that can do that and be a scorer, but a defensive stud that is a liability on offense doesn't make you any better IMO.

Olynyk is or has the potential to be everything that Henson is NOT.  Kelly will likely develop into a very good scorer.  Henson will NEVER be that.  Henson is your defensive stopper. I have a daughter that is a senior at UNC, so I watched him a lot when he was in Chapel Hill.  To me, they are polar opposites.  In other words, they compliment each other very well!!

I think that Sanders' offense would look a heck of a lot better getting passes from the NBA assist leader of the last two years than what he got from Brandon the gun Jennings.

Why in the world would the Celtics even consider trading KO? He may be one of the steals of the draft. That would be a huge mistake.

Some thoughts
1. I love this deal and I do it in a second.
2. Larry Sanders broke his thumb in a bar fight, so the Bucks probably aren't very happy with him
3. Last year Simmons talked about the Bucks gm being under and edit from his owner to make the playoffs. Bass and Lee would be an upgrade right now for them.
4. We might need to throw in a first if we are getting Ilyasova too.
5. Rim protecting athletic big men do not grow on trees, getting a young athletic player with the potential to be a defensive anchor in the future for years to come is worth giving up veterans and Olynyk.
6. If we could add Sanders as our 5 and pick up a big time scorer at the 3 in the offseason (Parker or Wiggins would be cool) then we are contending next year.
7. For those that believe in advanced defensive numbers (point allowed per possession), Larry Sanders was 2nd in the entire league last year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I totally agree obviously:-))  How about then trading Bradley for Turner from Philly??

Why don't we instead ask what they want for Luke ridnour?  If we had a guy like that he could give us pg minutes.  This would slide Crawford to first guard off the bench or he could be traded.  Likewise with lee/brooks.

Interesting.  Not sure who says no first.

Personally, I'd keep KO.  Not really sure what we've got with KO yet.  Rebounding has improved and that was a weakness.  His team defense is better than average for being a rookie.  So obviously his BBIQ is high and his work ethic and drive to get better cant be questioned.  Oh, and he is 7 feet tall...legit.
