11 rebounds  :o

to put that into perspective, big baby's all time rebounding high with the celtics was 11.

He has always passed and rebounded well but is doing a better job at both than he has before.  Stevens is getting a lot out of him at PG.

A testament to what a bad rebounder BBD was...as well as how impressive J-Craw was today.

It usually takes a high basketball IQ to get these.   Look at Rondo, LeBron and Bird all triple double threats and all high basketball IQ.   Who knew JC had a such a high basketball IQ.   You have to anticipate rebounds, see the floor and team mates and score.

This guy is the best kept secret in the NBA. Without him we would be lucky to have 2 wins right now. Danny really outdid himself getting this guy.

The best thing the Celtics ever did with Jordan Crawford was not giving him that 4th year. It's motivated him to play for a contract. If he keeps playing at this level the C's should be able to swing a 1st for him and Bass. Or maybe use him as a way to get Wallace off this team.

I would be thrilled if the celtics could pull a first round out of a jc deal. However, even if he's playing this well right now I don think rival gms will be interested, plenty of players put up numbers on bad teams.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

It usually takes a high BBIQ to get the number of triple doubles those guys did/do, not to get the occasional one. Ricky Davis anyone?

Ricky Davis had a high bball iq. It was his iq in general that was questionable.

Davis was one of many of those type players that never realized their potential like Antoine Walker, Derrick Coleman for example.

He didn't have an overly high bbiq.

He wasn't dumb on the court though. I always thought he was a fairly smart player who got a lot out of his abilities. He definitely played well for the C's.

Here's one more example of a random triple double: Ryan Gomes!

This got me thinking about dumb players who got triple doubles...Antoine Walker was, objectively, not a smart player on the court. He was a triple double threat every night on the court though - more due to his talent than his smarts.

Javale McGee has a triple double. (blocks instead of assists)
