Subject line says it all.  Chicago gets a replacement scorer and a little bit of savings for this and next season (a lot, if KG retires and they would have amnestied Boozer).  Brooklyn gets younger and shuffles some deck chairs on the Titanic.

Kg won't waive the no trade clause. Makes sense for Brooklyn if they think deng and boozers youth/talent is better then the championship know how and toughness of pierce and kg. I know Brooklyn was looking to them to mentor deron and Brooke. I think I would hold off and see how this team plays when healthy if I'm Brooklyn.

But kg ain't going to chi town with no rose. Involve the clippers somehow and unite kg with doc and you might have something.

Have you seen KG and PP play this season?

What's in it for Chicago? Really. :o

only reason Chicago does this is to go in the tank.  PP and KG look like shells of themselves this year.  Chicago might feel lucky in the draft since they seem to do well but that's something I don't see them doing

That would mean they are ready for rebuild.  Not sure they are considering that at this time.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I've always thought PP and KG would be a great fit next to Rose and Noah.
Without Rose though the trade is probably not attractive to Chicago and stops Gibson and Butler's development for Rose's return.

KG and Pierce with Rose and Noah, with Thibadeau on the bench would be a monster of a team.

Would have been a few years back.

BKN getting smoked again.  PP is 1 for six and KG is resting back to back games(cause he is old).

It's over for those two dude.  DA knew it all along...

Tibs knows it, Paxon knows it.

I think with Rose and Noah they'd be okay. They're fighting an uphill battle in NJ with the coaching situation and minutes. Having a secondary role on that Chicago team behing Noah and Rose, maybe with Butler as the starting 2 guard would be a good situation. Just 10 to 15 points per night with some stretch shooting and rebounding.

Only real worry other than major injury concerns would be Thibs relentless minutes management.
They could start KG and only do 5 min stretches.

I think they've been considering amnestying him for the past couple of seasons before deciding that they simply can't replace his production, even if he is not worth his contract.

It would be interesting to float this idea as a starting point for negotiating a trade and see what fans of both teams want to add to the deal to make it right for them.

I could see a Pierce for Deng trade with some sweetener added to convince Chicago to do it.

Deng might be the perfect sf for the Nets. And they probably wouldn't mind paying him big bucks for his next contract.

I'm not sure what it would take for the Bulls to jump on that deal. I get the Boozer salary dump idea, but KG is not the best contract for that.

Brooklyn is at a severe disadvantage in any deal.  Their window is slamming shut fast.  I don't see them getting anything close to equal value.  Other GMs know this fact.
