OT: Kobe to Bulls a good fit?

Kobe and Jordan Hill to Lakers for Deng and Boozer and 3 draft picks?


The Lakers would have a strong frontcourt with Deng, Boozer, and Gasol.  They would have a ton of cap space with Deng and Gasol coming off the books at the same time.  That way they could go after Carmelo or whoever.  Getting a few draft picks from Chicago would be similar to what Boston got for KG and PP. 

Chicago would have a strong frontcourt still with Noah, Taj, and Jordan Hill.   Hinrich, Butler, Dunleavy wouldnt be a great backcourt, but when Rose comes back next year they could potentially be great.

Yup. There is no way that the Lakers are trading their franchise player away. They pretty much sealed the deal by giving him that behemoth of a contract.

I agree, but that doesnt mean signing him for 2 more years was a smart decision.  He has a better chance to win in Chicago.  Chicago has a better chance of winning with him instead of Deng.  LA would be better off making a Danny Ainge style trade.

Laker fans will still come to watch Kobe even if they get bounced out of the playoffs. It'll be a sad day to watch Dirk, Kobe, Duncan, Pierce, Garnett, and other legends retire. It really will. All that more for fans to keep watching this guy keep playing until he can't. Kobe may not put up superstar numbers, but with the right marketing, he'll still make up by bringing in revenue, fans, and plenty of endorsements to keep the Lakers management and front office and himself set for life.

Agreed. Even though I've come to terms with the Pierce/KG trade, I still think trading Paul was a heartless move. Props to the Lakers (?!) for having the cojones to retire their newest legend.

Also, I think Kobe'll take five rings if he can move up the all-time scoring ladder. He's #4 right now, and this contract more or less seals the deal on him passing Jordan.

this is the first time I'm typing his name without vomitting a little in my mouth since he signed that ridiculous killer contract with the Lakers.  that should put a real crimp in their ability to build a contender for 2 more years
