First All-Star Game?
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I have no idea..couldn't be the game because they'd have on East/West jerseys...unless it was on the skills night.

Yeah, sorry, I meant the Rookie/Sophomore Game. Didn't they wear their own jerseys for that?

Wouldn't totally surprise me.

Miami will also have some serious cap space next year so I can this happening.

However, this could be Bosh might find himself to be the odd man out.

I can't imagine Miami would have enough money for Bron', Melo, Wade and Bosh.

Then again, it seems like Miami can get away with doing whatever the hell they want.

Don't forget Pat Riley is a serious salesman..he'd probably convince Melo to pay them to be on the Heat..LOL

Yup. Surprised Stern didn't give him the commissioner job.

Amateurs worry about equipment, professionals worry about money, masters worry about light… I just take pictures…

If the 2012 Olympics are any indication of how that would work, I think Miami would be just fine.

This isn't even remotely true.  At present, Miami is projected to be about $10 million over the cap.  Sure, it's all early termination clauses and player options, but still.  Is Bosh going to opt out of his $20.5 million next year and $22.1 million the year after?  No way is he getting that again if he tests free agency.  Wade's $20.1 and $21.6 million over two years?  Ditto for him, if not more so given his knee.  Really the only one who might opt out is LeBron.  If he does, the Heat will be at most $10 million under the cap, and there's no way in this universe that LeBron and Melo split $10 million between them.  Heck, suppose Wade also opts out, because he feels like he isn't performing up to his contract.  You think Melo, LeBron, and Wade can split $30 million between them (less once you account for roster holds and that this estimate assumes the salary cap jumps over $4 million next year)?

Melo is not going to Miami, end of story.  Please don't scare people/engender conspiracy theories.  Miami has nothing resembling significant cap room next year, even if LeBron leaves.

I don't think anyone was being serious or spreading conspiracy theories about this picture...just having fun with it. For example, Pat Riley is such a good negotiator he's going to convince Melo to sign for the vet min for the betterment of the team....that's totally going to happen.

I got your original joke.  But someone else saying that Miami has cap space so this could happen didn't sound very joke-y to me.  There's a number of people on theses forums who would read such a statement and start complaining about the cHeat, so I was trying to prevent that.

I actually mentioned this to my buddy not to long ago. Seeing that the big 3 could all opt out and decide what they wanted to do. Don't seeing it happening at all but who knows. I do think by summer time Celtics will be big players for Melo. He wants Rondo on the knicks but Rondo isn't even going to save the knicks this season. The Knicks look awful for the present and future, and at least the Celtics have some pieces they can move around to get another star.
