I was never a fan of Deron Williams with the nets. Diva attitude;

I saw a lot of their TV games this season, and it seems that their is no fluidity in their offense or defense. Purely iso heavy, and defense has no effort;

KG and PP cannot fix the nets broken down team as it is presentlly created; Unless they ship out Deron Williams first;
exactly that roster is poorly put together pierce and kg are not role players and will never play like that they need the ball to be effective. dont expect them to play defense or rebound at a high level that just wont happen anymore

Pretty bad conspiracy from the Nets' and Knicks' perspectives, given that neither one has a pick in the 2014 draft!

Haha! TP.

Edit: of course BKN has no first round pick of its own until 2019. That's a pretty long wait.

can't imagine the nets aren't a playoff team this year in the east. they're going through a bad stretch right now, but they have way too much talent to not get it together. hiring kidd was idiotic, of course (esp w/ some of the coaches that were out there), and i think that has a lot to do with them being in the spot they're in, but yeah, i have to imagine they'll be a 6 seed at worst.

I hope the Nets will get better though, since KG and Pierce deserve another chance.

I still think that the Nets will get it together.  They've got a lot of knuckleheads on their roster, but I believe in Pierce and KG.  Their current shooting percentages are a fluke.

Get it together for what though? To get bounced in the first or second round? That's about as high as their ceiling is.

Eh, I don't know if I agree.  If the Nets are healthy and if they're properly coached, I think they're the third best team in the East.  No team in the league is unbeatable, so Brooklyn has a puncher's chance.

I think the Nets will have a shot in the first round as long as they avoid the bottom two seeds.

Anything beyond the first round is entirely academic in this Eastern Conference, however, barring major injuries to Miami or Indiana.

There's the issue in my eyes. Kidd has no business coaching this team IMO.

After their most recent blow out, it seemed the best he could offer was "the ball just isn't bouncing our way. Sooner or later it will".

Meanwhile, KG listed off a bunch of things that they specifically need to work on.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

I just don't believe this.  It's likely that those will be the two teams in the ECF, but it's not a sure thing.

That's fair.  I just feel that the talent and experience gap between MIA and IND and the rest of the conference is so enormous.

It's not like there are any precocious young teams with the talent that just haven't "put it all together yet."  The best teams below the top two are probably the Knicks and the Nets, and while I agree that both will recover from poor starts to the season, I think the flaws of those rosters are too glaring.  The one thing that older, less athletic rosters typically have going for them is that they have lots and lots of experience playing together, and the Nets don't have that at all.

There aren't even any "gimmick" teams like the 2009 Magic that could just get really hot from deep and take down one of the top two.

I'd give a number of teams in the Western Conference at least an outside chance at defeating the Heat or Pacers in a 7 game series.  The Eastern Conference is just a drastically different landscape.

Are we assuming that this is all on Jason Kidd, and not, say, Lawrence Frank?
