we need to trade Bass, Lee, Green, AB, Jcraw, Humphries , Wallace for the best return as soon as possible. If we are going to lose or tank, i rather do it with a team full of promising young players.

Bring up Osby and let Pressey, KO, Sullinger and Faverani play extended minutes.

The conclusion now is becoming "what's the point"??

We play hard for the first half, and even up by 20 , everyone knows in the back of their minds, how are we going to lose it in the 2nd half??

At least with the young guys out there, you know from the start, you probably lose the game but maybe there is a chance to steal a few. It's a little more exciting vs depressing to watch. In addition by the end of the year you get a proper chance to draft a high pick.

I'm not condoing 100 percent disgraceful way of tanking which ML CARR tried to pull 10 years ago. Just a more legit way of doing it.

You trade these vets now or near trade deadline, don't think their values will change much anyways.

Can you honestly say that you expected our record to be much better than this so far?

A team where leadership is by committee where it exists at all?

Where half your team has never worn the green...and the half that has might not truly understand how special it is to wear the color?

With a freshly minted college coach at the helm who has to learn all the nuances of coaching in the pros?  Heck, look at Jason Kidd, potential HOF'er with a better team on paper, and their records are similar.

This year is going how we expected it would...except for the Miami win, which made my week :D

If deals pop up that are beneficial to the Celtics long term goals, you can be sure they will be given due consideration...a fire sale is not needed, and throwing all your rookies in the game to fend for themselves is not a recipe for long term success.

I want better also...I'm willing to wait for it and not do anything "asap".

You do know that Bradley just turned 22 a couple of days ago, right?

Who's "Osby"?

What if the best return is a worse player on a longer contract plus a second round pick?

Romero Osby. The guy the celts or red marine claws got from the Magic.  The kid has potential

If the player is younger, has potential and its a 2014 2nd round pick then yes for Jcraw or Bass

especially for Jcraw. I really don't like his game. He won't be in the nba next year

I'd consider Bradley a promising young player. But if you exclude him, we don't have a team full of promising young players. We have Sully and Olynyk and maybe Vitor. You could argue that playing Bass and Humphries (who hardly plays as it is) hurts their development but aside from that we don't have good young players losing minutes to the players you want to dump.I don't see the point in playing bad players over vets simply because they're young. I also don't see any way that it will help with Sully and KO's development to play big minutes in blowout losses every night on teams that aren't good enough to play anything that resembles an organized offense.

Trade players right away for the best value? See That's an oxymoron right there.

It's pretty obvious that the focus is on developing Sully, Olynyk, AB and actually Crawford at this point.  Vitor is around for awhile, Pressey is wait and see.  The rest of the roster is filler.  All of the 'filler' guys will be traded off at some point, some sooner vs later as Ainge tries to get something back for them.

So, let's say no team is giving up any picks for 2014 and no team is giving up any young player who has more potential than Fab Melo without receiving a pick in return.

There's no reason to trade anyone yet just because. KO and Sully are starting, and when they aren't in foul trouble are playing good minutes.

Wallace,Humps,Bass,Lee, Crawford aren't worth much right now. BUT, come trade deadline when teams have a better idea if they have playoff shots or not is when their value will jump.

Bass is a solid big that can board and shoot outside, and can guard guys like Lebron with more success then others at his position. Lee is an other solid guard who can defend and get you some good shots. Those two so far are the most valuable out of the bunch to trade to contending teams. They are young and their contracts are easy to work with.

Humps could help a team, but 12 mill for a contending team is hard to do. If he gets moved its most likely to a none contending team trying to clear cap space for FA. The other way would be for a star player, but thats not happening, but one could hope. He's really more valuable to keep in some cases.

Wallace is tough. 3 years kills most trades. But a contending team that needs that hustle/Defending wing coming off the bench, he's really solid. But like Humps, 10 mill is a lot to give up for a contending team.

Crawford could be a good piece to entice an other team if your trying to move Bass or Lee. He's playing really well so far. He's soooo much better than he was last season, and I no longer cringe when he has the ball. I'm even okay with those wild deep 3's he takes, because he makes as many as he misses.

Of course DA and throw every one for a loop and make a crazy trade, pulled out of what ever blackhole he he gets his hands on.

I expect nothing until All-Star weekend or after.

Personally i'd trade Bradley or Avery Bryant.  The crap he is doing these days makes me forget nearly all the good things he has done for the team the past 2 years.

- We be lucky to get anything worthwhile for Jcraw.  No contending team will want to deal with his attitude, turnover prone game or crazy shots.  Lucky for us, he can just disappear next year

- Bass and Lee together could get us back at least a 1st round pick or a few promising young players.  Both serve little to no purpose for our teams future.

- Jeff Green has a ton of value in the open market. Especially if a team is looking for a 6th man to push them over the top.  Ainge likely has his eyes set to draft one of the many talented 6'8 sfs available in the 2014 draft for the future anyways.

- Somebody i'm sure can use Humphries service and we could at worse get back another expiring contract and a 2014 2nd round pick

- If we can get back something worthwhile for Wallace, i'd trade him. But if not, i don't mind keeping him. He plays hard, can come off the bench and doesn't play out of control or outside of what he is capable of.

Bass & Lee don't equal a 1st rounder.  Bass is paid reasonably fairly, Lee makes too much.  They have value but if its a first rounder its at the bottom of the first round.  Green at 9 mill a year is overpaid and thus not worth much.  I'd love him as a 7th man at $5 mill but he's overpaid for what he delivers.
