yup, lack of real quality players when the game is really being decided.

and we're doing well compare to the "quality" of players in the Nets and Knicks

i meant more a go to scorer when you need points to stop a run.

but i never said I liked the nets or the knicks roster.  I actually don't.

I use to think this trade was realistic:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=jvslxo9

Boston Trades:

Rondo
Wallace
Courtney Lee

Indiana trades

Granger (expiring)
George Hill
Solomon HIll (23 years old)
Lance Stephenson (23 years old)
Late 1st rounder or two.

We'd get some late 1st rounders in that hypothetical.  We'd dump the bad contracts of Wallace and Lee.  Granger was nothing more than an expiring contract.  I figured we could trade George Hill to a 3rd team for a late 1st.  I figured Stephenson and Solmon Hill were just mediocre "prospects" we could add to the re-build.

From Indiana's perspective, I figured it could put them over the top in their championship quest.  Rondo could have a "Sheed to the Pistons" type of impact and they could roll with George, Rondo and Hibbert.

...

But with the way Indiana is dominating this season and the way Lance Stephenson has surprisingly shined... that trade idea goes from being "pennies on the dollar crap sandwich from Indiana" to "probably too much for Indiana to give up".

I'm still sticking with Indiana as my wildcard Rondo trade partner.

That's wild.  I still say they start piling up the wins once Deron gets healthy.  That team is only a game out of the playoffs... but it would be wonderful if they continued to stink so bad that KG and Pierce decided to call it quits mid-season.  I don't like seeing those guys playing on another team.

looking like crap without Olynyk out there.

Hopefully its just a minor sprain

This.....he is not flashy ...yet.........but I see how KO really makes this team click when he is there. With Sully .

I know we didn't play well in the second half but they also dominated.  The Pacers are a very good team.  They have a great shot at the title.

Indiana defense is amazing.

it's good but not amazing. We just stink
Talent still scores vs good defense.  The top level teams can still score against great defense.  No talent folds every time against any good team that decides to defend.
