I use to think this trade was realistic:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=jvslxo9Boston Trades:
Rondo
Wallace
Courtney Lee
Indiana trades
Granger (expiring)
George Hill
Solomon HIll (23 years old)
Lance Stephenson (23 years old)
Late 1st rounder or two.
We'd get some late 1st rounders in that hypothetical. We'd dump the bad contracts of Wallace and Lee. Granger was nothing more than an expiring contract. I figured we could trade George Hill to a 3rd team for a late 1st. I figured Stephenson and Solmon Hill were just mediocre "prospects" we could add to the re-build.
From Indiana's perspective, I figured it could put them over the top in their championship quest. Rondo could have a "Sheed to the Pistons" type of impact and they could roll with George, Rondo and Hibbert.
...
But with the way Indiana is dominating this season and the way Lance Stephenson has surprisingly shined... that trade idea goes from being "pennies on the dollar crap sandwich from Indiana" to "probably too much for Indiana to give up".
I'm still sticking with Indiana as my wildcard Rondo trade partner.
