By the end of the year if we don't stink that bad and the best pick we have is between 10-17 , which one of these forwards would you pick??

These two guys would be nice alternative choices to losing out on Wiggins and Parker. Both are considered sf/pf

I've seen several games of these two in action and my analysis are

Gordon: Has a good frame. Strong, quick, athletic. Has good general basketball skills and awareness. Needs to refine everything, especially jump shot.  Michael Beasley comparison comes to mind.  A more professional but less skilled version

Harrel: Like Gordon, but even quicker and more athletic.   Beast body also already weighing in at 240. Last year pretty much dunked every chance he got. This year he has added a jump shot and his passing skills have improved. Reminds me of a Kenneth Faried, how relentless he plays around the basket, but with more potential out on the perimeter.

I wish I was cool enough to have a first name like Montrezl.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I don't know much about either guy, but a less skilled Beasley doesn't sound nearly as appealing as Faried with a jumpshot...I guess my vote is Montrezl.

Right now I think they are 50-50. They are both 6-8 undersized power forward energy dunk machines. They both look like Kenneth Faried, or shorter Blake Griffins.

I might give the edge to Harrell, because of his wing span and strength. I'd be happy with either one in the 10-17 pick range.

What is interesting about this draft is that it has great looking prospects in the top 6 AND it has a crop of guys in the 7-20 pick range where you can really argue over the order of those 14 picks.

agreed. There will be also the usual "Kelly Olynyks" popping out of nowhere as the season moves on.

If Sully and Oly are part of the long term front court solution, for balance purposes we could really use a SF that can rebound, block shots and is overall more on the athletic side. Luckily there are lots of these kind of players in the 2014 draft.  So one athletic not shy to play underneath the basket SF and another SG who can ideally shoot the three or has elite capability to create shots.

This draft sure has a lot of 6'8" Power Forwards.  I'm kind of sick of those, hopefully we don't pick either of them

why? You rather have a 6'5 sf then?

If Jeff Green isn't part of the celtics long term plan, we will definitely need to draft one of these talented 6'8 sfs

List of these 6'8 sf/pf after 10

Gordon
Harrel
Jerami Grant
Cj Fair
Noah Vonleh
Perry Ellis
Kyle Anderson
Lebryan Nash

Lots this year.  And unlike Jeff Green most of these guys can also rebound

That's got to be the result of an errant keystroke while typing Montreal, right?

If all of these guys are selected after the 10th pick and are have more productive careers than Jeff Green, then this draft will be by far the best one ever. I don't doubt that these guys all have potential, but a number of them won't really amount to much.

At this point im at a draw between these two and really need to see more of them.

Harrell, is only 6'7 (draftexpress) but his wingspan and reach more then make up for this. His 8'11 standing reach is on the lower end for a center and very good for a PF. This length and his explosiveness will make him effective around the rim and on defense in the NBA. One thing that worries me is his lack of blocked shots this season. He should be averaging 2.5-3 a game not .5 but its early.

Gordon, has decent PF size and looks to be heavier then the 212 that he was last officially weighted at. His attempt to move to SF seems to be alright but he will never be a true 3. I have said it before that I think his ceiling will be as a shawn marion or gerald wallace type player. High energy super athletic wing who scores most point of hustle plays and put backs.

Dunno. according to the internet he was born in '94, so it's possible, but you would've assumed that if that was the case they would've caught it by now.

Gordon has started out slow but is really picking up steam lately.  His team is also undefeated. I saw the game above and color me impressed. His motor is on turbo on both ends of the court. He is physical and plays hard out there. But there is also some iq behind his game and is a very good passer. He took i think one jump shot the whole game and needs to improve it for the next level.

I don't have a Harrell clip to post but i've seen a few Louisville games this year. The guy is like a mix of Ben Wallace/Kenneth Faried.  Relentless is all i can say.  And i think a little crazy also. On one play i saw him dunk the ball and due to traffic, slip and fall on his lower side back. He just got up , yelled at the crowed and ran back for defense.
