Jcraw is such a horrible pg. Against Utah and Magic he might look like an all star but vs real teams he is prob the worse pg in the league

Tired of him holding onto the ball and killing the offensive flow. Basically we are chucking difficult long two's and missing

He has little use as a SG also. Can we just waive him ? I would start Pressey 100 times over him

He's still better than Pressey.  Pressey is obviously a hard worker, but he's a D-league caliber point guard right now.

your kidding right?? Jcraw is a garbage pg vs real teams

Pressey might score 0 points but the offense just flows better. Its just brutal to play all defense and keep bricking shots.

I'd like to see a return of the Lee + Bradley combo.

This team is a talent dessert ......we are headed for the lottery .......really doesn't matter who starts .  Rondo should stay on the bench till he is 100 percent.

Agreed.

I don't remember the player hate being so focused when it was Pierce and KG bricking long 2's and Perk was failing to finish at the rim.

As of now, for the season the Celtics are 10 points better on offense per 100 possessions (105 vs. 95) with Crawford on the floor. Pressey's about even (102 vs. 101).

Both guys have positive net plus/minus for the year, but in Pressey's case it's coming from the fact that the C's are better defensively with him on the floor - not offensively.

And prior to tonight, a couple of Crawford's best games came against Miami and Memphis - "real teams."

I'm not nuts about Crawford as a long run option, but I think so far this year he's played pretty well - at least relative to the other options the C's have.

Even if you started Pressey, who would you have backing up Pressey?

Waiving him is an over-reaction (and one that isn't justified) which shows the same sort of lack of forethought in roster construction that the Knicks had when they decided to keep Chris Smith.

Wow!!  What a stunning thread.  Through the first 11 games Jordan Crawford has arguably been our best player.  That may be a sad commentary on our talent level right now, but nonetheless true.

In my opinion, regardless of this Rockets game, Jordan Crawford's performance so far this season has been nothing short of heroic.

He has one stinker, and people are ready to crucify him.

Tough crowd.

They're starting him for all the reasons you mentioned.
He loses us games with his chucking but increases his trade value. He's actually been a far better passer than he ever got credit for, problem is no matter how many nice passes he makes- he still cant shake that scoring mentality and just chucks vomit at the ring at the wrong times.

Phil Pressey has been playing injured and will probably have a long career as a back up point guard. The kids court vision, bball IQ and decision making are phenomenal. He needs to work on protecting the ball with his dribbling and using his body to shield the ball a bit more against NBA length but he'll adjust fine.

But yeah, J Craw is part of the tank plan. His 'development' is to get him looking like he's improved and then lump him in as part of a trade sweetener.
He has no future in Boston & will likely get shipped in a trade this season if Danny gets enough value back for Green or Rondo.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I agree that Phil Pressey looks like he could have a solid career as an NBA back up point guard.  Of course, the key phrase there is "back up."  He's not an NBA caliber starting point guard.  Unfortunately, neither are Jordan Crawford or Avery Bradley.  That leaves us without a starting point guard for the time being.  Coach Stevens has been making do with what he's got.

I don't think he can be faulted (or credited, I guess, depending on what you're rooting for) for not starting the right guy at the point guard position given his personnel.
