Idea 3 team trade Celts/Knicks/Rockets

Boston gets a center and some salary flexibility in year 3.

Knicks get a new front court and Lin back.  They also get Humphries expiring instead of being saddled with 23mil in Stoudemire next year.

Rockets get a stretch 4, another 4 who can hit the mid range as well as anyone, and a young SG shooter.

Maybe NY and/or Boston has to throw in a pick each.  Houston is one team that can hide Bargnani though since his weaknesses are Howard's strengths.

Boston gets Stoudemire, Asik, and Shumpert.

New York gets Humphries, Wallace, Bass and Lin.

Houston gets Bargnani, Felton, and Hardaway Jr.

With all the money changing hands this is a trade that could have a lot of different players in it.  Lee could go to NY or Houston if either team wants him.

Basically, the Celtics clear cap room in year three and get a C.  I tried this with trades getting Asik to NY but if Asik wants to be a starter I'm not sure that makes him happy behind Chandler. 

New York gets a lot of front line depth and A'mare's 23mil next year.  They also get Lin back and that might be best for them, for Houston, and Lin.

Houston gets a stretch 4 who's deficiency in rebounding and defense play into Howard's strength.  They get a backup PG and Hardaway as a young asset.  A pick from NY and Boston probably go too.

That really looks good for us:-)))  Nice idea!!  This really is not too bad for Houston either!!  Come to think of it, NY might do this!!  Well done!!!!

Plus there is no way Boston can trade Wallace, Humphries, and Bass and pick up Shumpert and Asik.  Just not feasible even with taking on Amare.

In mine they get 21 + 8 + 2 = 31  They send out 12 + 10 + 6 =28 or so. with rounded numbers.  Brooks or Lee could go to either team to get it even or have the Celtics shed a few million.

If you are NY, why not just cut out Boston and get Asik?

That doesn't get them rid of Stoudemire and they don't have anything expiring at the end of the year.  Plus I don't think Asik wants to be a backup, especially not to Chandler if he already isn't happy backing up Howard.

Right, I think Shumpert would have to go to Houston, who really are giving up the best and third best players in the trade.
