The Twolves are shopping Derrick Williams and Shved actively AND as far as I read in their thread last night, are in love with BBass.

Could this be a win-win for both teams:
http://www1.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6354737
Celtics out Bass+Lee
Wolves out Williams, Shved and Dieng

Twolves get their PF back up, get better defensively with Lee, free DWilliams. Celtics get a 22 years old Nr.2 pick in trouble AND a nice prospect at C to develop + some much needed point guard depth + some salary dump.

Thoughts?
"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

I like the idea. Lee would be a great fit in Minesotta, they wanted to sign him before he chose Boston. Not sure they would want Bass though, i think they would want more for Williams.

How about just Lee for Shved and Dieng?

Shved is horrible.   I'd rather have Lee though Dieng is intriguing.

My thoughts on this, are this;  are you a Twolves fan?

Because this trade helps them more than us.

This trade was one I would have done at the start of the season in a fickle fan's heartbeat (when Lee was still in his funk).

I cannot say for sure the kind of player Shved is but the proposed trade gives us 3 prospects. Seems like a win-win to me.

Depending on the details, I'd probably still do it (would probably leave Lee out so he plays up his value a little more and put in Brooks).

I am an as die-hard-Celtics fan as it gets in Bulgaria.
I see the trade as a win now for the Twolves vs. win later for the Celtics.

It depends on how you value Williams and Dieng.
In Williams I see Beasley with less arrogance and more defensive potential. And a 22 years old.

I like the combination of Dieng's D and Olynik's O. Dieng seems to be a hard worker that is getting better with every year of playing. Good size, good instincts, low risk prospect.

The trade makes us worse now, but more flexible financially and with prospects to work with.

Honestly this is a pretty solid deal for both sides.  I'd make it.

We're in a position to give guys like this court time and see if we can develop them into solid rotation players or tradable assets.  I like this deal.

16% from 3P land.  .4 APG and .6 TPG

Pass on Shved, just say no to this trade.

You don't do this trade for Shved the player. You do it for Shved and his expiring contract.

I like the deal a lot but I doubt Minn includes Dieng.

Minny would be foolish not to do a deal like this because of Dieng.  They need to make the playoffs and be a perennial playoff team to keep Kevin Love and eventually Ricky Rubio.  Bass and Lee are solid rotation guys on a playoff team, and their bench is abysmal.

TP for the OP, this is a pretty creative trade. I clicked this thread expecting Love for Crawford, Wallace and Brooks.

If MIN would do this I would too. Dieng is a really good prospect and the salary is about even in the long term. We get out of an extra year of Lee which helps us. Williams still has some chance of being good, at least bench-worthy. I suspect MIN would only do this if they really wanted out of Williams contract.

Here is my only concern. From the little I know about our locker room, Bass and Lee are both pretty good friends with Rondo. I'm not saying we can't trade them or even that we shouldn't, but we have a mercurial PG who has been kindly described by them media as "moody". It might be worth talking to Rondo about this trade because it doesn't make us a lot better, even down the line.

For the record I really like Dieng, I wanted him in the draft, just not at 13 :/ I think his ceiling is Sam Dalembert and that is certainly worth acquiring at this point.

I like this deal for both teams; gives Minnesota better depth, gives Boston some more prospects and potential assets that make sense during a rebuild.

Another catch is Dante Cunningham has a similar game and serves the same role Bass would at a fraction of the cost.

I'd do this deal for 2 reasons:
1. move 2 vet players on longer contracts that don't figure to be part of our future.
2. get a young prospect at center that looks like he could be a solid defender at some point.

If Shved makes the $ work, fine.  Williams isn't much of a positive at this point.  He needed to show some development by now to still be considered a solid prospect.  at this point it's just taking a leap of faith he turns into anything worthwhile

I would want Barea in this deal.  We are giving them two solid rotation guys, and in a Bass a potential starter, and we are NOT getting back ANYTHING CLOSE to that.

Maybe, but if I recall correctly JJ is on a fairly sizable contract himself, which would run against the idea of getting some of those deals off our hands.
