Boston sends:

Rondo to Detroit
Sullinger to Houston

Houston sends:

Asik to Detroit

Detroit sends:

Drummond to Boston
Stuckey to Boston
Jennings to Houston

Maybe a couple draft picks would need to change hands, but this helps every body and is cap friendly. I think Boston gives up and gains the most talent here. Detroit wants Rondo and Boston need a big man so they are a natural fit. Houston has a problem with Asik and needs an upgrade at PG and PF so they are facilitators.

Jennings is an upgrade over Lin and Sullinger is a talent Houston cant pass up to play beside Howard. Asik gives Detroit a big man that can play beside Monroe and Rondo gets to rejoin his buddy Josh.

I know a lot of Rondo and Sullinger lovers are going to scream, but this gets Boston a legit center in Drummond that can really rebound, block shots and bang in the post. Stuckey is combo guard that can masquerade at back up PG and is 8.5 million expiring.

We move forward with nearly 25 million in expiring  for next season to sign a marquee FA and an athletic Center we add to the core of Green, Olynyk, Bradley and company. This also assures us of a great draft position and a top 8 pick will net us a really nice PG in this draft.

My feeling is that Detroit has to give us an unprotected first rounder here as well for maybe 2016. They probably will not give up one for this year.

I don't think Detroit gives up Drummond.

You could probably just do Rondo and a throw in (Bass, Wallace, Lee)to Detroit for Stuckey, Monroe and Detroit's 2014 1st (as it looks like they are all in to compete for now.)

I thought about Monroe, but I believe Detroit values Monroe more than Drummond. Based on that belief I decided they would also want a replacement starting big. I dnt think Bass is that guy for them, but if he is I do your trade in a minute. That's where I came up with the Asik idea, because they do seem to have buyers remorse with Jennings who is also a fit in Houston.

The only one of our veterans besides Rondo that I think Detroit would want is maybe Lee. Courtney would probably be a starter on that team at SG. They are so thin at the SG and have had to play Singler there who is a defensive liability on the perimeter IMO.

Don't forget too that Monroe is going to be a FA soon.

If Detroit deals the more affordable cost-controlled Drummond, they are going to need alot of cash to extend Monroe and I am assuming they'd want to extend Rondo as well, instead of just having him as a year rental.

If we are giving up an all star(Rondo) and a talented young big (Sully) we better get something better than Drummond (no matter how high am i on him) and Stuckey.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
IMO any trade that will involve Rondo and Houston should atleast have a requirement that we get Jeremy Lin.

With that said, Rondo and Sullinger for Drummond and Stuckey? This is not good return. Drummond will be an elite rebounder and a very good interior defender but I'm not sure if he can be something more. I'm not giving up the All Star and the Playoff Superstar for him.
