You need super stars pretty much.

It used to be you need a bkue chip center.

Then it changed to, you need a "big man" blue chip guy

Then it turmed into, well I guess if you are a top swing player in the NbA that too

Such a ridicous joke of a conversation.

Anyway I think by far center is the least valu ale position in the NBA these days and I would invest the least amount of resources in aquiring one.

There's basically one top center (who really isn't even that good) and then you have a bunch of centers who really all mesh togther and don't make a dramatic difference

Not exactly true. Both Bosh and Birdman are hybrid power forwards/centers and were very good carving out space in the paint. That along with Ray's 3 point shooting and Lebron's athleticism were basically the reason Miami won last year.

They were able to space the floor out thanks in large part to their size.

Before that you had Dallas in 2011 with Dirk and Chandler, 2009 and 2010 Lakers with Bynum, Gasol and Odom and 2008 Celtics with KG, Perk, PJ Brown and Powe.

Granted, maybe there aren't many traditional centers in the NBA anymore in the mold of Bill Russell or Wilt Chamberlain, but basketball is still very much a big man's sport.

As I mentioned in my above post, maybe there aren't any Russell/Chamberlain/Kareem/Ewing type centers in the league anymore.

But, size is still a BIG part of the game.

You can't just throw out a bunch of guards and wing players and expect that to be a championship level team.

Sure, if we are talking making ESPN's top 10 highlights, maybe. But not for winning championships.

There are plenty of traditional Cs in the NBA. A lot of them pretend to be PFs, others aren't as "dominant" because of how the game's officiating has changed.

You subsitute bosh and birdman ( can't believe we are even talking about it) with probably at least 30 other big men in league and you get the same result.

Yes you need someone above 6' 8" who doesn't trip over himself in otder to contend.

I mean almost every team in the league has as good or better big men than Miami
