Bass, Brooks and Clippers 2015 pick for Jerebko, Monroe.  Detroit gets a draft pick and a more affordable PF in Bass going forward.  Its obvious they dont want to pay Monroe max money because he isnt worth it.

Humphries, Lee, Crawford, and 2014 Nets pick, and 2015 2nd round pick from Kings for Gordon and Anderson.  They cant afford to pay everybody they have going forward.  Humphries helps them dump salary.  They get a couple of picks in the 20s to 30s.

Edit--I can't read.

I like it. Not sure if either Detroit or NO goes for it, though.

Sorry, but neither trade is giving the other team very good value and is likely to get turned down.

Amazingly great for the Celtics which of course means the other teams quickly just say no.

looking back at it, though, I think you could do a similar deal with New Orleans just Gordon and NO bites, but maybe that depends on how Tyreke is playing at the time, since he'd be Gordon's nominal replacement.

I think hump and the clips pick for asik is more likely.
Houston gets cap relief, a durable big and a late first.
We get a defensive anchor who won't effect our winning percentage much on his own but paired with our young core and a high pick in this years draft will provide the foundation we need to build a winner down the road.
Just me?

FYI the 2015 Sacramento pick was a "token" pick because a trade has to include both sides giving something. It is top-55 protected and will never leave Sacramento's possession. Same for the 2017 Sacramento pick. The 2015 pick was from dumping Cassell's contract in '09 and the 2017 from dumping Daniels' contract in 2011.

In other words, no one wants those picks.

Gordon hasn't looked like someone to build around in quite some time.  Not interested in him.

This is right on.  I like the targets, but the fact is, you need to give up something to get something.

Particularly Monroe.  This is a 23 year old, with legit size for a 4/5, who is currently putting up 18 and 10.  And he doesn't even have any attitude or injury problems!

While I think it is possible that he could be moved, because of the other guys Detroit has up front, he will not be moved for mediocre players and low first round picks.  I think to even get in the conversation for Monroe, you need to be offering up either Rondo, or your 2014 lottery pick.

MAYBE you could get them to bite on something like Jeff Green and Sully.  But, even that would be asking a lot.  Teams just do not give up young, star big men without being blown away.

Best case offer that I could see them accepting for the Celtics would be Bass, Green, and a protected 1st rounder.

Monroe is a legit player to build around going forward and Pistons would do well to add assets and players to their cache. Bass and Green fill needs on their roster.

I like all the conversation, thank you.

My point in all this is try to build around Rondo/Green and the hopes of landing a top ten pick this year.

Keepers:  Rondo, Green, Vitor, Bradley, ?Sullinger?.

Trade bait:  Olynyk, Bass, Crawford, Nets picks, Clippers pick

Trade throw-ins:  Lee, Brooks, Humphries

Players likely to be available at deadline:

Asik, Monroe, Gordon, Granger, Thad. Young, Evan Turner?, Afflalo, Marcus Thornton, Perkins, Zach Randolph,

What deals are out there?
