I've been wondering if Sullinger is this generation's version of Al Jefferson ... good tools, but a defensive liability ... better as a trade chip than as a long-term solution at PF. Maybe not this trade, but eventually in some trade.
Could be, but Shumpert is no KG. Danny let go of Big Al + pieces for a superstar. I doubt he lets go of Sullinger for Iman Shumpert.
It's too soon anyway! Other than Wallace (unlikely), Hump, Lee and Bass I don't expect much trade action this year.
I just don't think is Danny trading any assets this year. I think he's going to spend the entire year (maybe next year, too) building up assets, not dealing them away. He'll trade vets with longer term salary for worse vets with shorter term salary. He'll trade quality vets for youth and/or picks. Mostly he'll tread water this year and see who develops, how Rondo does as the featured player and face of the franchise, and what the team can get in the draft and in the FA period shortly there after. By next summer, I think, he'll have a better handle on who is an asset and who is core, but it could be another full year (or more) after that before he gets the sort of deals he'll be looking for.
