NY Daily News yesterday indicated that Iman Shumpert might be available now that JR Smith and Tim Hardaway Jr. can fill that guard spot ...
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/isola-return-lead-iman-article-1.1511806ESPN trade machine suggests that this Shumpert/Sullinger would work.
Would the upgrade from Bradley/Lee to Bradley/Shumpert be worth the downgrade from Bass/Sullinger to Bass/Humphries or Bass/Faverani, in terms of minutes played?
It rebalances the rotation for this season, but means drafting a power forward or center in next year's draft rather than a shooting guard.
While I appreciate Sullinger's defensive rebounding, he is not a defensive anchor by any means. The team is very vulnerable to giving up points in the paint when he is in the game. However, I'm reluctant to reduce the big man depth from five to four, since that makes the team very vulnerable if just one injury occurs up front.
