They signed him to a partially guaranteed deal, and are under the salary cap this year if they cut him.  Philly is the team that got hosed.

i dont think philly got hosed. they wanted to restart tank and get rid of salary.

Right, if they cut him before Jan, they're only on the hook for 6 mil. If they wait til after the season (most likely barring retirement), they can walk away from the deal with no cost beyond the first year.

But they didn't get rid of salary. They took on Jason Richardson and got rid of two promising prospects, one of which just got 30 and 20 against LA, the other looks like a long term option at the 3. They could've moved Iggy to Denver for something, kept Vucevic and Harkless, and been in the same situation.

As much as I rooted against Bynum when he was in LA, I really hope he's not done playing basketball.

Lakers not withstanding, he is one of my least likable NBA players ever.

He was abused in that he wore his body out 30 years before it should have started to decline so bad, in this a feel sorry for him.
