Clippers, the most overrated team in the league 3 years running. Has nothing to do with Doc. Just overrated hyped players who jst aren't dominant
Throw CP3 in any team , like even the current Celtics and we would be like 4 and 1 .......he just seems to have the knack of getting everybody playing well .
Without CP3 the Doc doesn't do alot for that team any other , decent coach couldn't. Without CP3 , Doc Shivers would have never went there , he'd ran for cover behind a mic .
Who is this everybody? Griffin played great before Paul. Didn't do anything for David West or Peja either, both played similarly without him. Chandler has become even more efficient in the pick and roll with Felton than he was with Paul. Players like Okafor and Caron Butler were great scorers but played worse with Chris Paul. I'm sure there's more that I'm missing, but can you name any players who clearly played better due to CP3?
The assertion was that the Clippers are overrated, and you responded by overrating one of the most overrated players in the league. Chris Paul is obviously a dominant player but he dominates with speed and scoring. Of course he's an excellent passer, but most of his assists come from his man focusing on him in the pick and roll. He draws double teams or he gets into the paint for an easy dish, both of which make his teammates better, but let's not pretend like he has no help and is making scrubs look like real players (ala Rondo, Nash, LeBron, Kidd).
You don't think Chris Paul made those Hornets teams better?
Really?
This team:

Won 56 games.
Of course Chris Paul makes a team better, I never said he didn't. Read my reply again, I'm simply saying he's not a magician who makes every PLAYER he plays with better (like the others I mentioned). He's had the fortune of playing with great players every year, and none of the bad players he's played with have done anything out of the normal. That team had 3 other all star level players in West, Peja, and Chandler, as well as one of the best defenses in the league.
That year Chris Paul almost won MVP. The next year he led the same team to 7 less wins and had a similar season. The funny thing is everybody still remembers Chris Paul as he was before the injury on those 2 teams, and ignore the last 4 years since. He's still a top 5-10 player, but his ppg, apg, rpg, FG%, spg, and FTA all declined.
Now if you really want to look at the player Chris Paul is, look at where he's gone in the playoffs. If he was really that good at making his players better I don't think he'd have 3-4 less assists per 36 when the games start counting (both of the last 2 years).
The fact that people are still referencing what Chris Paul did 6 years ago is just more proof that fans overrate him. Don't pretend like he can, without a doubt, turn the worst team in the league around and single-handily win games/lead that team to great success. Look at what he actually does, don't overrate him with dreamy hypotheticals. He's a dominant player, just leave it at that.
